the prosperity of FIS MALE SCHOOLS
in this City, that in consequence of Mr.
J. B. Brow.*** appointment a* Te.acher'of
the French Language in the Richmond
Academy, she came to the resolution of sun
mittiug to the Itev'd Doctor Thompson a pro
posal to transfer her School to the Female
Department of that Institution ; provided
a coalition could be formed between herself.
Mr. Brown aud Mr. T. H. Dixon, the ap
proved preceptor of that Department. 'i X#
proposal being made, mutually concurred
with, ami sanctioned by the President, this
design of consolidating the two Schools,
will he carried into operation after the an
nual vacation on Monday the 2d of October
next.
The three upper Rooms in the
•f the Academy are appropriated for the Fe
male Classes,an d they will accordingly ba
lilted up for the accommodation of the Pu
pils.
The several branches which constitut©
the literary course of instruction iu English,
will be taught by Mr. Dixwi in connection
with Mr. Brown, under the, supervision of
the President ; who will assign to each of
the Teachers his and her'distiuct province-
Mr. Brown w ill *ea,ch the French Language*
to the Female Pupils in the forenoon, reser
ving to himself the afternoon for the tuition
of the male Pupils.
