ham, the beautiful young wife of the
junior member of S. H. King & <’o.,
died at her home <n First avenue yes
terday afternoon at 10:30 o'rlnck. Mrs.
Graham wo* Miss Willi- William*, the
daughter of Mrs. W. T. Williams, of
this city. Her family is one of the
wealthiest and most prominent la this
section. As Miss Williams she was con
sidered not only one of the most beau
tiful and popular young ladles In Home,
hut in the state. She was small end
petite and with the sunniest and most
winning disposition.

to crimp, and was conducted to a farm

of the Golden Chain Is the last of the
fraternal insurance societies to find Its

to give way to the new ones elected at

The old officers have finally, in ac
cordance with the decision of the Ma
-1 ryland court of appeals, retired and

banded. the various members forward

W. E. ADDISON DEAD.
He Belonged to Charleston’s Heavy
Battery.
Charleston, S. C., July 25.-—William
E. Addison, a member ofw the Charles
ton Heavy battery, now in service on
Sullivan's Island, died yesterday morn
ing cf typhoid fever, after a severe ill
ness. Mr. Addison's home was at
Heath Springs, in this state. He was
28 years of age, and a worthy young
soldier, who had the full respect of
bis comrades. Capt. Anderson notified
Connelly cf his death, and the body
was brought over to the city lasi night.

of the heavy batter? deeply deplore
the uniimely death of their comrade.

urday. Both of these regiments will be

Shafter Is very anxious to latve these
two regiments reach him aa soon as
'possible to do garrison duty nt Santi

gel Roelll arrived yesterday from Gvn
i oral Pareja, military governor of
Guantanamo, to ascertain from General
Trial if the report of the capitulation
w. 10 true. As a result of General To
rai’a answer the six thousand Spanish
troops at Guantanamo will tomorrow
surrender. Lieutenant Mlley. of General
Shafter’s stuff, has returned from Pol
ma, Soriano nnd San Luis, where he
received the surrender and arms of 3,-
465 men, of whom 3,005 are Spanish sol
diers.
