It is raber warm, to say the least: “We have no desire to enter a mud throwing content with Editor Wimber ly, and could not afford to If we would. An editor who habitually chews bil lingsgate and spews filth is not woith a decent Journalist's attention. Our cap must have fitted him mighty well or he would not have proceeded so has tily to don and try to wear it. We bate some reputation to maintain and e:,mo standing to preserve and so must respectfully decline to ‘throw mud.’ ” To say the least, both these edito rials are quite caloric, hut there's war mer stuff coming, according to an edi torial squib In The Union which reads as follows: ‘‘The Union cf next week will be a very warm number. Editor Wim berly attached the chaplain at Camp Dyer as follows: “The fact that Uncle Sam allows the regiment to have ‘canteens’ must not be taken for granted that he is will ing to employ as chaplain a rm.n who drinks whiskey and well let some body stick a pin heire.” Temporary Administrator. The girl who bought a sailor hat wo ven of smooth straw this season f-els like turning a rapid fire gun loose on herself. . The smooth braids look pre-eminently respectable, but hopelessly old-fashion ed. Rough straw is the stuff. The little narrow brimmed hats of this matcital give even a plain girl a jaunty air. They are becoming to only a few, hut arc stylish on all, and one must not hoi*, to find beauty, Btylc and comfort all in one little hat. Th-* rough stiaw has a decided ad vantage over the rdaln. It does not. soil so easily, and then, too, it Is light er. Why will middle-aged women wear sailor hats, es; peoialiy those of either sparse or ample proportions? This is a hat built only tor youthful faces and girlish figures arid it beats any other hat ever made fW accentuating tho line© and wrinkles of age. The liquid voicp, of a woman would probably he appreciated mere 1 f she would occasionally turn off the flow.
