AFTER LOUIS ROBINSON. The Savannah Detectives Put on His , Track. I Savannah, As., Sept. 9.-Officers have been out on the track of Louis Robinson, formerly manager of the Robinson Printing company, of this city. Robinson left Savannah about six months ago. and left liehind him what Is alleged to lie a lot of forged papers. The amount. It Is said, Is about *5,000. 'Several v.orthless notes are now In the • hands of the Chatham lank, of this •city. With which he did business. The grand Jury found an Indictment io the lease, charging forgery, and a bench | warrant was Issued. Robinson was well known here, and for ,a time was sup posed to be doing a good business. He Is believed to have been located and It Is expected that he will be brought to the city before long. NO PARADE IN NEW YORK. The Surgeons Advise Against It at This Time Montauk Point, L. 1., Sept. 9.—The information is given out at Sharfter's headquarters that Col. For wood and all the surgeons who wore requested hy make recommendations with regard to" a parade of the troops in New York had ail recommended against the pa rade. The surgeons state the troops would not be in shape to stand the ex ertions of the march before the expir ation of at least a month or six weeks. SHOOTING RABBITS. Sept. 9—Texarkana is in a state of alarm over the large number of negroes who throng the town and the ctttxens ere organising J vigilanee eimmltteos for th protec tion of property. The ne groes fled, leaving three of their num ber behind wounded and perhaps kill ed. They had been warned to leave the county and paid no attention to the warning. Other similar incidents are reported by the incoming negroes. In some localities of Titus county, which was formerly densely populated by ne groes not a colored man, woman or child remains, according to stories told by those who reached this place. ' A Nice Operation. Yesterday Dr. A. S. Tinsley, Augus ta's well known specialist, performed quite a nice operation. A young gentleman from Columbia has been suffering with an extra growth of the nasal bene. Dr. Tinsley removed a part of this bone and the patient is o. k. The erookedest brook in America is the No Name Pond brook in Maine, beside which an electric road runs for some distance below Crowleys. The Songo river is no instance to this crooked little stream. What makes the attua;lon more troublesome is the un disguised rivalry between the f’Bow ers of Agulnaldo and Gen. Plopllar. who covets the honor which Agulnaldo has acquired. Plopllar Is In command of the Insurgent troops stationed In. South Manila. He uses them In a way that is moat annoying io Agulnai do, and at the same time makes every effort lo show disregard to Amerl can officials. His forces continue to patrol the city, encouraging lawlers-j ness In every direction. They are constantly annoying the American troeps who are engaged In the difficult task of preserving older. Agulnaldo Aggressive Agulnaldo no longer attempts to conceal his hostility to tbe officials of: the United States, and yesterday is-! sued an order prohibiting the soldiers frrm entering the American lines. This was probably deemed necesaaiy In order to prevent them becoming so well disposed towards the Americans as to destroy his power hy repudiating bis leadership. Certainly it will prevent the i presentation of a strong ease before j the Paris commission in behalf of the Filipinos. MR. THOS. J. ROONEY. Once Again Is Charged With Selling Liquor Without License. A rase has been docketed against Mr. Tom J. Rooney at police station. The charge is one that Mr. Rooney has been confronted with before—selling li quor without a license. Judge Baxter called the case this morning. Mr. Rooney appeared, as did also four colored witnesses. Another witness in the case for the city is Chief Hood. The chief was detained away Just at the time, and so It was decided that the case should go over until tomorrow morning. The violation of the ordinance is raid to have taken place last Wed nesday. Tills conces sion will shorten the transfer routs by some alx or seveh miles. Cars to be transferred from the Central to the Sa vnnnah, Florida and Western wharf at the present time have to go atvay round by Mouth Over Junction, which la some four or five miles south of the city. Another advantage gained by thla | route will be that passengers from ihe upper part* of the slate on excursion trains ran be taken to Tybee boats without change of car*. The Central gains the advantage »f having all com petition against It shut out on the river , front. SENSATIONAL SUICIDE. Wealthy and Prominent Citizen Takes His Gwn Life. Indianapolis, Sept. 9. Wm. H. Tucker of the firm of Tucker & Dor sey, manufacturer*, suicided (his morning. He has been despondent since the death of bis wife. He was u prominent citizen nnd very weal thy. Enjoyed Dance. The dance given lost evening at Lake view wits one of the most enjoyable ones given there this season. About thirty couples attended, and Messrs.
