from the effects of the excessive tient.
On Tuesday the young mup Jumped out
of the second story window and ran
across the yard to the tracks of the
Pennsylvania railroad with only his
shirt on. His mother ran after him
nnd soon caught him. Both mother
Mid son fell on the tracks. The young
man held his mother In a tight grasp
oml refused to stir from Ihe spo*.
though a train could be heard coming
toward them.
Mrs. John Iking hurried to Mrs. Den
nis' aid, but before she could get to her
Mrs. Dennis unbuttoned her waist pm!
slipped out of It, leaving her son hold
ing It tightly in his hands. He still re
fused to leave the track, though the
train was rapidly nearing.
Mrs Long then took off her red pet
ticoat. which she waved over her head.
The engineer saw the signal and stop
ped the train a short ilistance away.
After several minutes the demented
young man was induced to leave the
tracks. He collapsed soon after and
became unconscious, and grew weaker
gradually.
