Ago.
St.Uesboro, Ga., Sept. 17. The reg
istration books tor Bulloch county
closed here last night, with a few over
3600 raes enrolled. This is three or
four hundred more names than were
registered two years ago. The popu
lists have worked unceasingly to have
every roan registered that they think
they can vote; but the democrats feel
confident of success. Cotton is
badly damaged in this county by the
rcoent rains, and but very little is be
ing ginned. It, ! » estimated that the
cotton crop will fall short one-third
in this county. Hoad hands are be
ing called out to work the roads.
Bridges are being repaired. Ko:n
roads and bridges have been terribly
damaged.

men of Company V presented Lieut.
Col Berner with a very handsome and
' costly sword this afternoon. This com
pany Is mostly from Forsyth, Col. Hcr
ner'„ home, and this bqputlful gt*t Is
lan acknowledgement of their esteem
for him, Ihelr former llrst lieutenant.
The company was lined up In their
street In the presence of Col. Berner,
' when First Fergeant William T. Blac
ken. In a very neat way. presented the
sword, which was received by Col. Ber
| ner In the most appreciative manner.
The sword Is very beautifully en
graved, and on me side in lurge let
