HR. WEMS SMITH.
Narrowly Escape* a Serious Acci
dent
Mr. Wems Smith came near being
seriously hurt yesterday. Mr. Smith
had spent the day at Graham's station
on the S. C. & G. road. Arriving little
late at the station he found the train
fast moving out and attempted to
hoard it. Unfortunately, he missed
his footing and fell heavily to the
ground, barely escaping the fast mov
ing wheels.
Parties who saw the accident ran to
his assistance, thinking to find a bad
ly hurt man. but Mr. Smith picked
himself up and upon examination it
was round that with the exception of
a pretty badly skinned hand and
arm. he had sustained no other Inju
ries.
