Ell Shaw Was Found Not Guilty of Killing His Mother. Camden, N. J., Oct. B.—Eli Shaw, on trial for the past week charged with the murder of his mother of his moth er. was found not guilty today. Ten thousand persons were in the court room when the verdict was read and cheered vociferously. Shaw fainted and had to be carried out of the court room. SIXTH CAVALRY. Arrived In Huntsville, Ala., From Montauk Last Night. Huntsville. Ala., Oct. 8— The Sixth cavalry, Maj. Idaho commanding, ar rived from Montauk last night. It was one for haul ing and lumber and amounted to $1215 and some odd cents. The trustees said he had not been given permission to take the contract, Bupt. Evans had not given him permission. He admit ted this. It was also brought out that no bids for the furnishing of transpor tation for the scholars had been given out. tmt a certain party had been given the contract Just so. The matter Is causing a deal of talk adtong. the members of the board to day. HRS. FRAIN INJURED. Stepped on a Nall Which Penetrated Her Foot. Mrs. R. A. Frain met with a painful accident yesterday afternoon. Mr. Frain is having some improvements made on his house and store on upper Broad street. Yesterday, Mrs. Frain. while walking through the house, stepped on a lathe in which was a nail. The nail inflicted a painful wound in the ball of her foot. Dr. Battey was summoned and opened the wound so as to insure its early healing. Mrs. Frain is today getting along very nice ly, and it is hoped that no serious re sults will develop. Mr. Sam Powell, of the Parlor Meat Market, has returned to the city, after an absence of several months.
