DROWNED NEAR STATESBORO
A Driver and Horae Lost in Brannen’s
mil Race.
Statesboro, Ga., Oct. Jl.—A sad case
of diowning occurred near Nelwood,
ten miles below here, Saturday night at
a place known aa Brannen’a old mill.
Mr. M. E. Grimes, a prosperous Jeweler
of this place, and a negro man named
Boston Wallis left here about 7 p'cloek
for Areola. The late freshet having
washed the bridge away, there had been
a route opened to go around by the old
race, but It being dark they did not go
far enough, and drove into the race,
where it was probably ten feet In wa
ter. The horse and the two men were
in an instant out of sight under water.
Mr. Grimes miraculously got out from
under the top of the buggy and swam to
the shore, but the horae and negro were
both drowned. The body of the ne
gro was recovered yesterday, together
with the buggy. Wallts was a man of
about 45 years, well thought of and
leaves a large family. The horse be
longed to W. T. Smith, liveryman, and
was a valuable animal.

Lydia E. Pinkham s Vegetable Compound has cured me of painful menstrua
tion and backache. The pain in my back was dreadful, and the agony I suf
fered during menstruation nearly drove me wild.
Now this is all over, thanks to Mrs. Pinkham’s medicine and advice.—Mrs.
Cabbie V. Williams, South Mills, N. C.
The great volume of testimony proves conclusively that Lydia E. Pinkham’s
Vegetable Compound is a safe, sure and almost infallible remedy in cases ol
irregularity, suppressed, excessive or painful monthly periods.
“ The present Mrs. Pinkham's experience in treating female ills is unparal
leled, for vears she worked side by side with Mrs. Lydia L. Pinkham. and for
sometime past has had sole charge of the correspondence department of her
great business, treating by letter as many as a hundred thousand ailing women
during a ainglejfear.''
