Work has been started ou the home for the nurses aml v on the kitchen. This morning the centtq.l, structure of the hospital was started. This has the wards running from It and will have entrances Into each of them. The structure will be divided into four room*, a store room, main office, sur gical room and dispensary. It Is thought that the work on Turk nett spring will he so far advanced by tomorrow morning that the pumping of water will commence. The camps at present are supplied with Summer ville water. Capt. V/. C. R. Colquhorn Is the latest arrival at the quarter master's department. The officers arriving report that troops are reporing to leave Camp Meade, so It will probably only be a short while before they arrive, prob ably by Saturday. Maj. Jenkins has been quite busy to day laying out division heaclqunrters. The plans are ready and will make a beautiful camp. About lop feet frqrp John street the officers’ tents will be placed in a semi circle. A short distance behind these will be the home titots. Then in a ! short distance the teAts of tho order lies and clerks will be arranged in a straight line. All ofrthe underbrush in front of the camp vs til be cleared away and a beautiful view of the city can be had. . FORMER AUGUSTAN DEAD. Mr. H. B. Farrow Was Once In Em ployment Mere. The recent death of Mr. Hyder B. Farrow at the home of hia father, Col. T. Stobo Farrow, at Gaffney, has been the cause of much sorrow in Charleston, where he was well known, to many people. He ur&s just 21 years of age. He was born in Caro lina. hut spent many years in Wash ington, whore his father was In gov ernment service. About two years since he entered the employ of the Inmans at Augusta, and at the time ol his death held a responsible position in their great cotton house. Of graceful manners and charming per sonality, he was always a favorite in the social circle, while his business ability and native integrity won the respect of his employers and promised brightly for his future.
