en examination of the lody of Mr*.
Nofla Pandorf. who dle«1 middetily at
Iter homo jre*t#rday morning. The ex
amination developed that Mi*. Pan
dorf had a tumor weighing II pound*.
Thl* was probahly ih* cause of her
death.
The deceased waa sixty-three years
old and a widow. She had suffered
some time with a tumor and had been
uncr the car* of a physician. Her
case had been properly diagnosed, but
It was not thought that the tumor had
attained such an enormous growth.
An Inquest was*held this morning,
after which arrangements for burial
were made.

plans of three Chicago men the tri
umph of the drainage canal Is to ex
pected In the northern peninsula of
Michigan and the two great lak#B. Su
perior and Michigan, ai * to be connect
ed by a ship canal which will greatly
shorten the distance hy water hem ecu
the porlif of the two lakes and add to
the commerce and prosperity of the

The promoters of the enterprise are
