Today the greatest land most powerful people In the world openly acknowledge us as second only to Itself. This seems wonderful, but I yet it is true. It is a matter for great rejoicing that as an entire people we recognize what we owe England for her openly expressed friendship throughout tliP war with Spain. It is very fitting ttir.t the whole nation should enter heartily into the season of thanksgiving named by the Presi dent. and offer thanks to Him whose hand guided us through it all.
