of her mother, Mrs. Ida Foster. Re
cently another of the senes of recon
ciliations followed, and the two were
about to renew housekeeping. Last
night. Mrs. Riddle on Invitation of
Mrs. Oebhart, wife of Devolo Oebhart,
a grocer, who left yesterday for India
na, went to the Oebhart home to re
main until the return of the husband
of the latter. Unfortunately for;
Mrs. Riddle, (be latter was in the gro-;
eery talking to an acquaintance when
Riddle, who was in search of his wife, 1
came in. The sight of the man to
whom Mrs. Ritidie was talking aroused
the husband’s jealousy, and when later
he again railed at. the Oebhart resi
dence the man was under the influ
ence of liquor and quarrelsome. Ho
at once referred to the grocery inci
dent, when the twe engaged in a bitter
quarrel.
Riddle finally grasped his wife about
the waist and held the five chambered j
bulldog revolver to the woman’s head,
but the wife In the desperate struggle
for life, avoided tb» first shot.
