The premiums for the first year
amount to nearly ten thousand dollars.
The Idea Is unique and the men are
more than pi-ased with their Christ

handed each man his policy. The
single men looked dolefully at the pro

housekeeping before another Christmas
rolled around.

Four Canines Cause Case.
They recorder ployed to a very small
house this morning. There were three
eases on the docket for trial, and out
of these one was dismissed.
Mary Jane Jackson boil violated No.
460, for which Judge Howard, acting in
place of Judge Baxter, lined her $2.60.
Now for the fighting case, In which
four dogs played the roles and caused
their owners to have a little difficulty,
as a finale that landed both owners at
the court of the recorder.
The dogs belong to Dr. Rudetl, and
Frank Porter (colored).
Last, afternoon Dr. Jtudcll was taking
a stroll, and with Him was his little ter
rier. Frnnk Porter pased by with three
small dogs. The three canines proceed
ed to fight the terrier of Dr. Hudell’a.
Th t . terrier would no doubt have been
placed hors de combat had not Dr. Itu
dell kicked the three dogs away. Then
Porter cursed Dr. Rudell. The lattter
(ailed Officer Britt and had a case
made against Porter.
Judge Howard decided that Porter
was In tge wrong to the extent of $1.60.
Dr. Rudcll left court with the terrier
at his heels and Porter paid his tine.
