Death by Lightning.
On Monday last, the Academy in Bainbriilgq, De-
catur Co. was struck by lightning, which killed
son of Mr. John Harrell. The whole school was
stunned by the shock. The electric fluid passed
over a little girl, setting fire to her cloths, and tear
ing the shoes from her feet, without doing her any
personal injury.

DIED,
At Albany, on Sunday the 19th inst, of inflama-
tton of the stomach, Jonathan Phillips, in the 54th
year of his age.
Mr. Phillips has been for several years a resident
in this place, and was beloved and respected by all
who knew him. He has left a wife and two. chil
dren to mourn his loss. He died calmly, professing
faith in tho Saviour, and' expressing a willingness
to depart end be with God.
So calmly, close the scenes of earth,
To those who love the Lord—
His rod and staff will comfort them,
That trust upon his word.
