W HEREAS information has been received that DEMP
SEY J. JIJS I ICE and ARCHIBALD BROWN, who
are charged with the murder nf \\ iley (iiidger, a Penitentiary
Guard, and who were confined in the Jail ot Tw iegs county
to answer said charge, have made their escape theielroui.
Now, in order that the said JUSTICE end BLOWN, may
•bo apprehended and brought to trial, lor said offence, I have
thought proper to issue thi*. my proclamation, Inu.div ollcr-
ing a reward of THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS, lor their
apprehension and delivery to liie Sheriff or Jailer ol Twiggs
county, or ONE UL'NDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS lor
either of them.
And I do moreover charge and require all officers, civil and
■military, in this State, to uid nud ue-ist in apprehending mid
securing said fugitives, so tlut they may he brought to trial
for the ollence with which they are charged.

Description.
Dempsey J. Justice is 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, round bo
died, weighs about 175 pounds, has light hair, a high lore-
head, is quick spoken, has light grey or blue eyes, a line set
of teeth, his face round mid full, and of a high colour, walks
• erect and bold, is about 35 years old.
Archibald Brown is about 5 leet G or 7 inches high, square
built, weighs about 1G5 or 170 pounds—has black hair, a low
forehead, broad face, high cheek hones, pretty good f eth,
complexion red, stoops u little in his walk, and is about 30
years old.
On the 6th December Inst, they made their escape from
Tw iggs Jail. It is believed that Justice is still m the .State,
and may Ik* found in the County ol .'Sumter, one of the South
western Counties. Brow u is supposed to he with J ustico.

A 8 the fourth session of this Institution is now ut hand,

the public generally, that, hy the guidance of an overruling
I'rovidence, the College and the cause of Medical Reform
und Science still “move upon the tide of successful experi
ment,” and continues to attiHct, and we believe merit, the
notice and attendance of young men of the first order, educa
tion and talents, and wo have a fuir prospect of fu wishing, at
no distant pei iml. must of the important places in the South
ern country, with Physicians of the first order, and supplying
the vust demands which are daily pressing in upon us for
Thomsoniuii graduates.
We have succeeded in securing the services of gentlemen
of well-tried and .ippioved talents and experience ns a Facul
ty in thi.H Institution. In order to lessen the labor and extend
the instruction, some new accessions have been secured. In
relation to these it is only necessary to say that their qualifi
cations and abilities are considered amply sufficient. The
greatest diligence and energy in the prosecution of the general
affairs of the Institution are manifest.'
By much labor nud perseverance of those who have been
connected with it, a considerable amount of apparatus and
other anatomical convenience have been obtained, us also
very convenient and commodious dissecting and lecture
rooms.
Board may he obtained at from 8 to $12 per month.
Students are particularly requested to bring their hooks
with them. The follow ing are most proper to be studied :
Thomson’s works; Mattson, Howard, Comfort, and other
Botanic works on Theory and Pructiee ; Thomson’s, How.
