It may seem unnecessary to add a single word lo tlie
above address, but calls upon the Institution have been
so numerous and pressing, and tho struggle through
which It Is now passing to widen the circlo or its chari

cannot too strongly urge upon the
HUMANE AND SYMPATHETIC
Everywhere, an active participation in the additional at
tempt to alleviate the sad condition of great numbers of
HELPLESS CHILDREN,
Rendered thus by the terrible war through which we
have passed. Aud assuredly, whatever may have bceu
the relative political views of ladies and gentlemen
heretofore, all mpst agree that the children referred to
could not, by any possibility, have liad any agency in
bringing about their present deplorable uud desi itute con
dition, and are suitable objects for the charity of all per
sons, of whatever shude or political opinion.
The HOME AND SCHOOL which they uow more par

these helpless ones, but likewise solid and thorough ed
