An adjourned term of this tribunal now re mains in session at the City Hall, HU Honor Hiram Warner, on the bench. We learn that its unfinished business will probably occupy the entire week. Personal. \Y e were pleased to greet in our sanctum yes terday J. B. McCullaoii, Esq., otherwise "Mack," the spicy Washington correspondent of the Cincinnati Commercial during the lato sessions of Congress. The lotters of 11 Mack ” have been of an eminently conservative charac ter, and the rebukes he was wont to administer to tho “ rule or ruin ” party in AVashington and at the North, were most scathing. We found in Mr. McCullagh a gentleman of fine intelli gence, and were much gratified at making bis acquaintance. He comes among us to write the political situation in the South for the Commer cial, and we trust he will see enough to enable him to counteract tho malign influences of wri ters who seek only to misrepresent and abuse the Southern people through the Northern press. Mr. M. remains at the National Hotel. Tlie Fair. We very much fear that the somewhat pro tracted April shower of last evening seriously in terfered with tho last night of the Fair at the Broad Street Theatre. We regret this, for cer tainly it was progressing in a most satisfactory manner, and but for the untoward circumstance to wbiclt we refer, last night would have been the crowning occasion. The ladles were indus triously engaged the entire day yesterday, In ar ranging for an overwhelming number of visitors in the evening, and wo believe it was the pur pose of a very largo number of pcoplo to see that the ladies were not disappointed. We speak unadvisedly, but if financial disaster is to he averted, we think it will be necessary to hold the Fair an evening or two longer. We hope the ladies will conclude to do ao, F. S.—Since writing the above we have been requested to state that the Fair will be continued to-day and tonight. A lunch will be served from 13 to 4 o’clock, to whicit everybody is in vited. At 7 p. m. the hall will be opened again for visitors. Gen. Dick Taylor, This distinguished ex-Confederate officer, now a resident of Now Orloans, remains a guest at the National Hotol. Gen. Taylor, we learn, is largely interested in mining operations in Lump kin county, and is an route homo from that point, where lie has been lookln^fter his Interests PIc-Nte To-Day. The Suuduy School children ol the Trinity Church and Wesley Chapel will unite to-day in a pic-nic, to he held out on AVashington street, just beyond the residence of F. M. Richardson’ Esq. Tho children will assemble at their re spective churches at 8 o’clock this morning, when, after appropriate exercises, and the de livery of several addresses, processions will be formed, which will move out to the designated ground. Tho processions will unite on Wash ington street, in front of the “Lyon House.” We are requested to state that lunches intended for I Augnsm the occasion, from the teachers, parents, and 2 tyB , an , k < 2, f „ Au ffi 9ta " „ friends of the children of Wesley Chapel, will Northwestern Bank?.™? *£ be left at the store of L.
