Colin Campbell, from the Clyde for the West-Indies, was El len in with, t.o windward oi Guudaloupe, in Ja nuary last, by a 1- reach corvette, of 26 guns and 300 men. A severe action was f< ught for three hours and a half, in which capt. Camp bell and most of his men were killed before the Pitt struck. Extract of a letter from liordrau r, da’rd the 12 th January , to ag, nil man in Cnarlenlon. “ It is reported this morning that a ten ihle battle has been fought near Warsaw, on the boarders of the Vis;uia, be.ween our army and ihe Russians, in which the Russians were de feated—it took place on the 2 id, at 3 o’clock. The Russians had 52,000 men killed ; we lost 15,000 Polos and 7,000 i i-cnch. The number ! of prisoners is not jot known ; they arc Ic poi led to be more linn 80,000.” Another letter from Bordeaux, of the same date us the above, also stales, that a decisive battle had been fought on the 22 1, 23d and 24th of December; in which the Russians and Prussians were defeated, with the loss of 50,000 men.—The loss on the other side, was stated at 7000 French and 5000 Poles. An Act to continue the prohibition to trade 1 with certain parts ofihelsand of St. Domingo, has been passed, with an ammendment to ex tend the prohibitudon to any islands depen dant oil St. Domingo, which arc not in posses sion of the French government.
