Mr. and Mrs. W. XI. Crisp, actors not unknown to
fame, and great favorites throughout the cities of the
South, commence an wngagement at the Savannah
Theatre ibis evening, under the management of
Messrs, Raymond and Hamilton. The appearance
of these "stars” of the firs; magnitude on our dra
matic horiaou is a good omen for u brilliant season.
We look to see tho best tragedies and the sterling
comedies produced iu unexceptionable style, with
the combined strength oi the Crisps and the full aud
exoellent stock company. To-utght Richard HI. *s
produced, aud old Savannah play-goers need no
urging from us to go and see Crisp's "Richard." A
crowded and brilliant house will undoubtedly greet
the veteran of the Southern stage this evening.
Out readers’ attention is called to the advertise

Cucus, now performing iu Charleston to crowded
houses. The Charleston papers state that it is not
only tho heal; Circus that has boen there, bat that it
is the best aud moat perfect organization they
have overseen. Tho acrobatic feats are tho best

ment. In fact Stone, Boston ,v Murray's Circus Is the
most completely constituted establishment for the
amusement of the public ever organized.

Drowned.—Saturday afternoon last a negro man
engaged in loading tho steamer lizzie, Baker, feU

Capt Clements Brown, iu distress. She left Jackson
ville ou the lath ult, with le.ucO feet lumber under
ballast, hound for New York. Olf Cape Fear, about
4 o’clock p m, on the 23d, wind N N E, saw the
steamer Mount, bound for Jacksonville, hailed her.
On Tuesday. 81th, 3 am, mainsail gave Way: vessel
was put before the wind, and scudded under bare
poles. At S o’clock a in. sea boarded her on port
quarter, taking bulwarks aud everything olf decks—
sweeping decks clean. Os two men at the wheel, one
was washed overboard and wax not seen afterwards.
Cabin was filled with water; chronometer was spoil
ed, charts, Ac.
Next day, 23th, lost her flying jib-boom while in
latitude J 9.19, longitude 76.80. Kept running till she
made Abaev, vessel leaking badly, men lashed to the
pomns and wheel. 89th, wind moderated, come up
from soudi; worked hack on the Florida coast under
foresail and jib. Off Cape Carneval passed pieces of
ship’s stuff, painted while aud black, heaps of cedar
logs, pieces of yawl boat and broken oars, and a
small spar. Came Into Fernandina, November 1, for
repairs.
