FROM A MEMBER OF THE OLD
GUARD, AND A DEAR OLD
FRIEND.
pear Brother Watson: I and all
of the old Guard, and well nigh all
others of old Hall are with you
heart and soul, and can of a truth
say down with tyranny; and with
Patrick Henry, say: “Give us liberty
or give us death.’
In regard to pecuniary help ,1 can
say that our purse strings are open
to contribute to the cause, now or
whenever needed, and that we gladly
and willingly, are ready to lay all
upon the altar. In regard to a State
convention, I am heartily in favor
of it, and can promise you a large
delegation from oid Hall. Would
that we could be flooding Congress
with piles of petitions entering our
solemn and earnest protests and de
manding the repeal of the iniquitous
usurpation. Would that the people
of our entire States and Nation could
be aroused as never before at every
county site, and the truth blazoned
into their brains of the mighty issues
at stake, which as I see it, probably
is the last great struggle for human
liberty and d’stributive justice. The
question is will we as men and pat
riots rise to the requirements and
necessities of the case and worthily
and heroically meet the issue?
With love to you and yours, 1’ am
Affectionately yours,
A. L. NANCE, M. D.

WISCONSIN LADY ASKS A QUES
TION.
Dear Sir: Svery week when I get
my copy of The Jeffersonian 1
eagerly scan it for some word from
Wisconsin, or some of the Northern
States to show that they too, are
awake and up and doing, but so far
T have been deeply disappointed.
Why is it? Surely we of the North
have red blood too and patriotism,
and courage to try to right a great
wrong. I simply cannot understand
how anyone could help seeing this
terrible war in the right light. 1
have felt from the first just as your
fearless paper puts it, and I thank
oGd every day for Tom Watson, i
deeply regret that more people can
not read your paper. I would send
it to every one in America, if I could
afford it, but I do all I can to bring
It to the people’s notice.
I am sending one dollaY to add to
your fund to test the Conscription
Act, and I wish it were a great deal
more. You have my constant prayers
for your life, health, strength and
success, both personal and for our be
loved country.
I wish there was something I could
do. Your sincere friend,
MRS. F. W. DALTON.

FROM A TENNESSEE REPRE
SENTATIVE.
Dear Sir: Tom Watson’s bold ap
peal to the Federal Courts to save
the lives of a million American boys
is grand and noble, and w r ill endear
his name to the American people.
Surely there is nothing wrong in ap
pealing to the courts of the country
in the manner provided by the Con
stitution of the fathers. There
should be a flow of money to uphold
and support him equal to that given
to the Red Cross. Bully for “Our
Tom.”

Attention, Farmers!
We want to say to the readers of
the JEFFERSONIAN that we do not
send out great pictures of Fat Hogs,
neither do we show you on paper the
difference between a lean Hog and a
fat one, but we are telling you about
a medicine put up in Quart Bottles’
for Hogs Only, known as PERRY’S
SWINE-LIXIR, manufactured in
Moultrie, Ga., and recommended by
the Moultrie Packing House, and sold
by dealers every where. Now, if you
want to make the best of your Hog
raising, it will pay you to use Perry’s
Swine-Lixir as directed, and remem
ber at the same time that you are
using the best Medicine for hogs that
you can possibly get. Dr. Perry has
been a successful hog raiser for a
number of years and is an old
Naturalist who spends his time
studying the diseases of hogs, birds,
and flowers, and while we may in
duce him to write to papers about his
Swine-Lixir, he says that it is enough
for the farmers to know that they are
getting the best, and that if the best
does not suit them, it will not be his
fault.
