The qoebticn in relation to every candidate for Commissioner, would be, not whether he is honest and capable, bat whether be is pledged distiuct'y and unequivocally, to tho policy of carrying freight-* at a price which cam ot pay. This Dalton plan, is nothing mire or less, than a preposition to give to ita customers and freighters, th*j control ot the But-s Bo d—and if tbe Legislature adopts it, it will exhibit about as much regard for me interests of thefi ate, as the Board ot Directors ot tho Central Bail rood would exhibit for the in terests of H-» ulnokholders, if at the r next meet ing, they should psßi a resolution subiniWing tbe regulation of their tariff of freights to the mo/ chants cf Macon.
