Cotton Growers of
Georgia
Plant More Cotton in
1971
1. Under the Agricultural Act of 1970 the cotton producer will receive price
support on his entire farm allotment for cotton
2. He may plant as much as he likes beyond the allotment. On the extra
production he can secure the loan but not the price support.
3. Small farm payments have been eliminated on those small farms not
planted
4 These small allotments can be leased, sold, or released Holders of these
small allotments to secure any income from them should sell or lease before
March 31. Larger farms, equipped for cotton production should secure these
small allotments.
5 A cotton producer by planting more acres than his farm allotment in 1971
should be able to maintain his base yields per acre for payment for 1972 should his
yield in 1971 be reduced because of weather conditions
6 Your Agricultural Commodity Commission for Cotton urges the production
of more cotton in Georgia in 1971

Macon on January 27. Dr.
James E. Jackson, Extension
