THE ENQUIRER published weekly, A T Uree dollars per annum, payable in ad- im. ranee: or four dollars if not paid for before the end of the year. Advertisements will be inserted at the rates of seventy-five cents per hundred woids for the first insertion, and fifty cents for each week's continu ance. Notice of these are to be given in a public gazette Sixty Days previous to the day ofsaie. Sales of Negroes must be at public auction, on the first Tuesday of the month, between the usu al hours of sale, at the place of public sales in the county where the Letters Testamentary of Ad ministration or Guardianship may have been granted, first giving Sixty Days’ notice thereof, in one of the public gazettes of this state, and at the door of the court house where such sales arc to be held. Notice for the salo of Personal Proporty must be.given in liko manner for Forty Days previous to the day of sale. Notice to the debtors and creditors of an Estate must ho published Forty Days. At the end of n month, he rose of his owb accord, put on his clothes,,and resumed his usual labors in the field. After the lapse of nearly two years, namely, on the 9th April, 1696, he was again overtaken with eJtcnssive sleep. He was now bl*d, blis tered, cuppfid and scarified, aud the most irrita- * ling medicines applied externally, but they wera unable to rouse br oven to irritate him, und du ring a whole fortnight he Was never seen to open his eyes. He ate, however, as before of the food which was placed near him, and per formed the other functiuns which wero required: hut no person ever saw any of those acts, though ho was sometimes found fast asleep with his mouth full of blood- In this condition ho lay ten weeks. A singular change In his constitution now took place. He lost entirely the power of eating; his j.tws Were set, and his teeth so closely clenched, that every attempt used to force open his mouth with instruments failed. Having ac cidentally observed nn opening In his teeth, made hy the action of the tobacco pipe, and usu al wilfi most groat smokers, they succeeded in pouring sum' lent wine into his throat thro* a qui t. During forty six days, he subsisted (o’o about ilireo pints or iwo quarts of tent. At the end of seventeen weeks, viz: about tho seventh of August, ho awoke,drnasad himself, and walked about the room, being perfectly une conscious that he had slept more than oue night.
