Three fourths of tbu receipts were from vagons. -r Exports from Savannah- The Savannah News of September 2d, cou •ns (j n article on the exports from Savannah rhich will be interesting to every Georgian. iVc avail ourselves of the facts and figures lierein furnished to inform our readers of the Unmercial condition of our seaport. ‘ (j OTTO N.—The total receipts for the year mount to 388,736 bales of Upland and 17,- 06 of Sea Island, being an increase of the eceipts of the previous year of 18,995 Upland ml 3 030 Sea Island. The the total exports , ive oeen 383,986 bales of Upland and 10,960 j. ea island, being an increase over the ex- W rts of last year 17,095 bales of Upland and “;!0 Sea Island. Stock on hand, 700 bales Upland and 850 Sea Island. Rice. —During the past year there has been xported 21,681 casks of rice against 10,691 br the previous year. Lumber. —The tables show an increase in L e exports over tho previous year of 7,668,- 00 feet. Wheat. —Although the trade in this article as just commenced yet the shipment for the ast year amounted to 468,040 bushels, of >hich 38,695 were shipped to Liverpool, 7,422 0 Havre, 828 to Glasgow, and the balance to lorthern ports. Floor. —Os this article, like the wheat, new mong the exports of Savannah, the shipments rithiu the past year have been as follows : To .ive'pool, 4,228 barrels; to Sydney, 8,391; lavre, 1,310, and to the Northern ports, 29,- 01, making a total of 38,791 barrels for the ear. Cori'Eß Ore.—The exports for the past ear amount to 20,813 boxes, or about 5,200 uns. Domestics. —Thera fans been exported 9,- 54 bales besides 800 balc3 of yarns. Wool. —Os this, also anew article of ex tort, there has been 744 bales exported dur ,g the year, the larger part of which was dur hg the last three months. The News adds : “There are many other articles of export f considerable importance in the aggregate, f which we have kept no record. Among hese are Corn, Hides, Feathers, Rice and flour. The exports of these articles are still n the increase, as new avenues of trade with lie interior are opened to us. “The extension of the various railroads ring us every year a large amount of busi less which has heretofore had other outlets, lesides affording to the planters along the Ines a more certain and speedy access to mar let, and thereby offering them additional in lucements to put more land under cultivation, hie Savannah, Albany and Gulf Railroad, ww in progress, will place us in immediate oiinection with a large section of country itherto almost isolated. This road will bring :ito market a large quantity of timber and irpeutine lands, and thus make this a market or naval stores.
