Jan. lrt-ly NOVELTY WORKS. ALBEimO-VFhY'A’ <'<>., Manufacturers of Furniture, And Dealers in every description of Goods belonging to the trade. A Few Facts Wortln Heading. }7HKST.'The Novelty Works is one of the few os . tnblishments of the kind in this section of the country. Second. It depends on but a small extent of country tor trade, while New York and Boston have the whole United States, consequently it looks for support from the people of this section. Third. The North has drawn from us annually thousauds of dollars for furniture. Fourth. We, as true to our interests, ought to keep these thousands at home for reasons that the south fully understand. Fifth. We can keep it at home by buying furni ture of Southern manufacturers instead of North ern. Sixth. If we are wise we will keep it at home, for we are dependent on Northern workshops. Seventh. Northern work is no longer called for by Southern purchasers. All have suffered hy it, and pray for good furniture at any price. Eighth. Therefore it is nonsense to iuteipose an objection to price which is simply remunerative. Ninth. But it is an important fact that our Fur niture is not as high as the Northern work. Tenth. Our Furniture is made in Folumbus, Georgia, and not in Massachusetts or New York, where most of the Furniture offered for sale comes from. Southern independence will never be hilly at tained by conventions and such things alone. The South must foster and encourage her own manu factures. When she is her own mechanic then, aud then only, will she be truly independent We do not ask Southern men to buy our Furni ture because it s manufacture, nor do wo wish this fact to deter them from purchasing: we ask them to examine and buy only when they are satisfied that our Furniture is got up in style and finish not excelled by any Furniture brought from the North. That it is more substantial; that it is better adapted to the wants and taste of the people, and that it in *old at lower prices than has ever been paid for Northern slop-work.
