DAILY SXJN. Tnrsiloy Morning, Nov. 34, 1837. See advertisement of Messrs. Clemency & Richards, in another column. They have sorno very fine hogs. Mere Rain. On yesterday morning we were visited with another light shower, but unless the ruin was heavier up the country than it was here, we fear it has not beuefitted our river to an extent that will enable the larger class boats to run freely between this city and Apalachicola. We hope, however, we may have more before it clears off. We were pleased to greet the Apalachi cola Advertiser of Wednesday last, re stored to its original size, aud printed on new and handsome type. Thuugh twice burnt out aud once destroyed by tho gale, the Advertiser has gone on prospering and to prosper, and is now a handsomer unit better paper than ever before. It is impossible to crush such a man as Wy man by misfortune. Each adversity adds new zeal to his energy, and causes him triumph over all obstacles. We wish him the most unbounded success. We call attention to the large sale of dry goods at auction, commencing this day at the store of Atkinson & Taylor. Their stock is large aud varied. Persons in search of bargains in goods would do well to be on hand For the Daily Sun. Messrs. Editors :—Having seen a com munication in yourpaper of the 2;id inst., over the signature of “Ex-Alderman,” suggesting a ticket for Aldermen for the ensuing year, permit us to suggest the name of a gentleman to be run for Mayor. There arc already several candidates in the field for that oflice. We would res pectfully announce the name of M. N. Clark, Esq., an old and time-honored cit izen, for that office : a man long aud fa vorably known in our city, an energetic and practical man, and one who, in our opinion, would administer the municipal affairs of the city in such a manner as would give general satisfaction. If he would permit his name to be used, ho will be supported by Many of his Fellow-Citizens. Georgia Specie Paying Banks. The following is a list of all the Banks in Georgia, that we know of, that are now paying specie, two of which are managed by citizens of Columbus, which, in view of the bad odor in which Columbus stands abroad, as regards her Banking institu tions, is somewhat remarkable: Bank of Columbus, (paid in capital)...s‘2so,ooo Com'l. There are plenty of young gentlemen as well as plenty of old ones whose beards are turning gray, which gives the former a great deal of un easiness, and exposes the age of tho latter. To avoid these little perplexities we advise such of our readers to use Prof. Wood’s Hair Restorative, which will, in the course of a few weeks, change the hair to its natural color. It does not dye the hair like the most of the hair restoratives, but produces a gradual change of color from tbo roots of the hair to the linal end, and gives it a fine and glossy* appearance. We have seen many persona who have used it successfully, and pronounced it the only invention which lias come to their idea of a “cure for gray heads.” Wo commenced using it about two months since, and if we are any judge of age and beauty, it lias made us at least ten years younger; in fact wo are beginning to look quito young, and feel very much like getting a young wife. The change is miraculous, and it would ho as difficult to find a gray hair now us it would he to find an idea in the head of the Duke of Bucking ham. We know several old maids and some young widows, whoso locks aro just beginning to assume a silvery hue, and who have been talking seriously about resorting to this remedy, and we advise them not to delay any longer.
