LEBRUN offorn to those suffering from deafness, his infallible aural remedies, which have been successful in nearly three thuusand cases of confirmed deafness I These remedies have been pronounced by lira. Klmuner, of Herltu, and Dsloan, of l'aris, and Curtis Pilcher, of Lottdun, as the most wonderful ever applied for diseases of in ternal and middle ear. They comprise different courses for the various diseases that affect the ex ternal and middle ear. Dr. Lebrun warranto a curt in every cate, where tb ear is perfect in it* formation, lie bai eighteen certificates from those who have been deaf from infancy, whose hearing is now completely restored, and they are now ena bled to learn the language! Over twenty-seven liuudreil eases of deafhess have been successfully treated by him. Certificates to that effect may bo seen on appiioation. In all cases of deafness arising from lullumue tlon, thickening, or even perforation of the ‘mem tirona tympani,'usually called the ‘drum;’ iullam mation ot mucous membrane of the tympanum and custicliain tube, with accumulation of mucus; nervous affections, polypus growtha, 4c., or when the disease can bo traced to scarlet, typhus,bilious or intermittent fever, colds, the use of quinine or mercurial mediciues, gatherings in the ears of childhood. 4c., the sense can, !u nearly eveiy in stance, be restored. When a want of secretion is apparent, the ‘auditory canal’ being dry and scaly; when the deafness is accompanied with noises In tho ear, liko rustling of leaves, chirping of insects, falling water, ringing of bells, pulsa tions, discharge of matter; when in a stooping position a sensation is felt as if a rush of blood to the bead hud taken place; when tbe hearing ia perfectly acute where there Is much noise, or less acute in dull, cloudy weather, or when cold has been taken, the course pursued by Dr. Lebrun is considered infallible.
