DAILY SUN. Jloudty Morning, March 8, 1858. New Advert imm out a. Should any of our readers require the services of a legal gentleman in Florida, w 0 would refer them to the card of Win. E. Anderson, Esq., of Mariana, Fa., with the assurance that their business will be promptly and faithfully attended to. Persons indebted to Messrs. J. 11. Dan iel & Cos. will probably save cost by re ferring to their advertisement and com plying with the requisitions therein made. Drs. Tuggle & Wingfield have removed their office to Raudolph street. Sec ad vertisement.. Persons wanting good black jack wood should refer to the advertisement of Mr. A. D. Bostiok. Military Parade. The Columbus Guards, Capt. Semmes, ,md tlio United Rifles, Captain Wilkins, were out on Saturday evening for gen eral parade and drill. They presented their usual fine appearance, and per formed their various evolutions with the precision and promptitude of veteran soldiers. They fired several salutes in honor of the 22d of February, which they were prevented from celebrating in con sequence of the inclemency of the weath er on that day. Our military corps is certainly an ornament and honor to our city, which, we are glad to say, is fully appreciated by our citizens. We received through the post office, on Saturday, the following lines, with the request to publish them for the consola tion of the very worthy mother of the misguided and unfortunate author: To my Mother. Composed mid written iu Columbus Jail by Jamks K. Thompson, who is under sentence of death for the murder of John Calhoun: Bear up, oh, hear thee up, mother, And don’t give way to grief, Our gracious God is powerful, And yot may send relief. Bear up, oh, hear thee up, mother, Although I’m doomed to die, l yet will live eternal life With angols in the sky. Our God has promised to forgive Krring sinners, e'en like me, If sincerely ,e repent; Thus my —l'll happy be. And yet I dread to go, mother, And leave you iu distress, But hope to meet again, mother. In endless happiness. ltrlgliam Young's Annual Message. The N. Y. Herald contains, entire, the annual message of Brigham Young to the Utah Legislature. In its news column we find the following running synopsis of its contents: “After alluding to the condition of the Territory as regards agriculture, the mechanic arts, mining, education, the policy pursued towards the Indians, and the mail contract, he discusses the diffi culties of the Saints with the Gentiles. — Having received no official notification of the intention of the government to super cede him in the gubernatorial office, nor of the despatch of troops to Utah, Young affects to regard the Army at Fort Bridg er and the civil authorities there as an organised mob, against which he has al ready fulminated a proclamation to dis perse; and he calls upon the Legislature to adopt such measures as may be deemed proper in the premises. The Legisla ture thereupon passed resolutions ex pressing their entire confidence in Brig ham Young, and their determination to sustain him. It also passed a law attach ing Green county to Salt Lake county, with the view, probably, of nullifying some of the proceedings of the United States Court which had opened there by Judge Eckels.” TEMPERANCE HALL! It substitutes the rapidity and precision of machinery for tho slow und unrelia ble results ol handicraft The factory consists of a series of machines devised expressly for this es tablishment, each of which works true to exact ness, turning out each part so ns to bo an uccurate tit in any one of a thousand watches. Absolute precision of time is nearly attained liy these watches, as the inevitable result of their simplici ty and exactness of structure. The ense of their repair is obvious, us the makers have always on hand, for sale, the different parts of the watch perfectly finished, to repair damages. Besides the watch heretofore offered to the trade, wc are now making a second quality, inferior to the first only in having less finish in immaterial parts and a lighter case. This wo ofler at a prico so moderate as to be within the mcanH of every class, and w recommend it as sound aud reliable, aud groatly superior to imported watches of equal price The trade are cautioned against English and Swiss imitations with which the country is flood ed. Each of our best Watches is engraved ou tho plate, Appleton, Tkacv A Cos., Waltham, Maas., and is accompanied with a certificate of genuineness and perpetual warranty, over our own signature.
