§(ailg gnu. Wrrin.aday Morning, March 4, ’SH. The Journal of Commerce learns from the agent of the contractors for supplies for the Utah expeditionary army, thut on the -i>th of January there were assembled at Fort Laramie one thousand nine hun dred and thirty-two head of draught oxen in good condition; and that, in pursu ance of the instructions received from the War Department, a wagon train, con sisting of one hundred and ten wagons, will start thence on the 20th instant, laden with provisous and clothing for Colonel Johnston’s command, now in winter quarters at Fort Bridger. Kach wagon will curry five thousand five hun dred pounds weight; and one thousand three hnndrc and twenty oxen will be re quired for tlio service. The contractors have no doubt that the train will reach its destination before the loth of May, and in good tiufo to supply the troops with everything of which they may stand in need, prior to the commencement of tlieir march to Salt Luke. ♦ .. —• True Courage. The annexed reply of A. J. Stofer, Esq., of the Culpepper (Va.) Observer, to a challenge sent him by 11. M. Garland, Esq., of the Republican, exhibits more true courage than would a thousand duels:—• 1 am not willing in cold blood to attempt Iho life of a fellow man, even should he have no lamily and children dependant upon him or am I willing to make my self a tar;/ it for the cold, deliberate, ma licious feelings of another, and thereby place myself in a position where my wile limy bo made a widow and my children orphans; but even if I did, 1 can see no reason to resort to sucli means to satisfy tlie present dilliculty between us. The controversy is one not affecting the honor, I think, of either, unless conscience is the monitor of condemnation, for either might be mistaken in some particular. But with reference to the wholematter, in future as in the past, I shall maintain a ilej'en.iire position, and as I can bo seen daily on the street, you can take such course as you think proper. In the year 1851 I had a negro boy who was subject to fits, and while sit ting by the fire one night he fell in and burnt one of his feet so severely that it made him unable to do any work, and he has been a cripple ever since, and has been able to do no work of any conse* quence. I have tried several remedies, and have hail him under the care of several physicians, with out any apparent benefit. Hearing of the wonder ful cures being effected by the Eureka Oil, 1 con cluded to try it. I have used it but a short time, and the great change wrought lias satisfied me I have at last found the cure. When complete you shall hear from me again. Respectfully, Yours, WILLIAM JACKSON. I commend it to the afflicted everywhere. Yours respectfully, WM. B. JACKSON, M. D. Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 3, 1857. G. W. I tried a number of the best physicians in that coun try, but all failed to cure. After moving to At lanta, she was attacked again with the same mise rable disease. Having heard of your Eureka Oil— after having tried the Electric Oil and it failed— I concluded to try it. 1 did so; and after using about one bottle and a half, I am most happy to state a permanent cure has been effected, and do most heartily recommend it to all who may be af fected in the same way. Try it; it is a cheap Physician, and will cure when others fail. Respectfully, Yours, D. D. HALL. N. B.—i will vouch for the veracity of Mr. Hall. 8. J. SHACKELFORD. Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 3, 1857. G. W.
