Turman, Esq., was elected, with out opposition, Justice of tho Peaco for the 773d District, G. M., on Saturday last. Avery judicious selection. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rea. Don’t forget that Mrs. Frank Rea, the inimitable vocalist and comedienne, as sisted by her husband, Mr. Frank Rea, and other talented artists, will give one of her Drawing Room entertainments to night at Temperance Hall. The pro gramme for this evening is quite attrac tive, and the fame which has preceded them here gives promise of a most enter taining performance. For further partic ulars we refer to the programme of this evening. Penmanship and Book-Keeping. We refer our readers to the advertise ment of Prof. Pelot, in another column. Those desirous of acquiring a thorough knowledge of Book-Keeping, Penmanship and Arithmetic, should not let the present opportunity slip of doing so. Mr. Pelot has taught successfully in some of tho first cities of tho Union, and from tho classes of every place where lie has taught he briugs the highest testimonials as to proficiency and gentlemanly bearing. lie taught a class here several years since to the entire satisfaction of all his pupils, who unite in bestowing the highest praise upon him for proficiency in all the branches which he teaches. His lectures commence to-night at Concert Hall, and we would advise all our business men to avail themselves of this favorable opportunity of perfecting themselves in the knowledge of the difficult sciences he teaches. TUe New Bridge. We arc gratified to be able to state that the new bridge, in the upper part of the city, is fully completed, and ready for presentation to the city. We presum it will be tendered to the city authorities at an early day, and we trust it will be re ceived without a dissentiug voice. We have been informed that there is some objection still existing against tho bridge. We hope this is untrue, as there can be no grounds upon which any reasonable man could object to its being built, and becoming the property of the city. The talk about its injuring the lower part of the city is idle, and, without good reason to sustain any such an opinion, we say let it bo received, and become of profit to the city. * ,Rkeumntl*m Neuralgia, Ac.— Tho agonies of rheumatism and neuralgia are among the most acute which ever aillict tho human frame, and liavo heretofore been found tho most difficult to overcome. Ttf steamship Circassian has arrived at St. Johns, bringing Liverpool advices to tho 2Gth of October, three business days later than the America’s. The Circassian’s news reports sales of three days of 15,000 bales, and a further decline in cotton of 1-l Gd. to |d., the market closing with a declining tendency. We quote Middling 11 to 11%, Strict Middling 11%, Good Middling 11%, Middling Fair to Fair 11% to ll%c. CHARLESTON, Nov. 6.—Sales of cotton to-day 3,800 bales, with a declining tendency.
