The United States mail steamship Black Warrior, Captain Smith, from Now York, via Havana, lias arrivod at Now Orleans. The Diario de la Marina, noticing tho defeat of Vidaurri by Miramon, states ‘ that there was not much doubt that Gen. Robles y Pezuela would soon have pos session of tho Presidential chair of * Mexico. All sorts of improvements are being advocated with great energy, and not a few prosscuted with zcul. Fort Yuma wagon road commission, writes under dato ot Oct. 2, 1858, from Fort Yuma, as follows : “Near our old camp, and about fifteen miles above this place, a gold uiino has been discovered directly on tlio road, which is represented as being exceedingly rich, l’ooplo nro (locking to it from all quarters, and numbers of immigrants ni route for California have stopped there. All the men who loave our expedition are bound to this new gold discovery. Isent a Mr. Kent, of our company, who is a re liable man, and has spent seven yeurs in the California mines, to prospect the lo cality for mo. Ho reports that the pros pect is good, and that the miners aro making from $5 to $25 per day. Tho distance from tlio diggings to the mines, is from half a mile to a mile. Tlio gold is found in lumps, and is readily washed. I have as yet Been no dust; and, indeed, no very small particles from this region. Mr. Kent lias a brother with us who will accompany the expedition to Sail Diego, and then return to the mines.
