Olivo him a hearing. Tlte Prt*c>K cr Connection. The track for the connection of the passengers trains on tho Montgomery and Muscogee Rail Roads, is nearly comple ted- so near that tho train of tho Mont gomery Road is able to approach near enough to tho passenger train of the Mus cogee Road to exchange passongers and baggage without the aid of vehicles, which they did yesterday morning and last even in". The want of a sufficiency of iron on the ground is all that has prevented its „ off being complete. The passenger connection may bo considered mndo as the service of omnibuses is no longer | required. Wo congratulate the roads, nnd particularly the Muscogee, that this great barrier to tho travel has been removed. The passenger depot for the local transit on the Montgomery Rond, will remain as heretofore. The Ucst Freight Route. The great obstacle which has long ex- j isted to prevent the Savannah route from being the best and great freight route, has been removed by tho completion of the connection of the Montgomery and Muscogee Roads, and as soon as tho trains j on the Montgomery Road can be arrang- I ed to go directly through, there will be j a great saving of time between Savannah and Montgomery in the delivery of freight. The change already is a saving fully of twelve hours, and it will be fully twenty-four or thirty when all arrange ments shall be complete. This being done the Savannah route will possess a large advantage over that of Charleston, because of its shortness, aud becomo the I great freight thoroughfare from New j York to the country west of this city. The control which is exercised over the four tine steamers plying between Savannah and New York (they belong to the Central Rail Road) gives this route, as a freight route, a decided ad vantage over that of Charleston. A train expressly for carrying freight west of this city, is running daily between Sa vannah and Montgomery, which, having no discharging to do on the route, goes through with great dispatch, leaving but little necessity of paying Express expen ses to ensure the quick passage of goods shipped over it. Time through from Savannah to Montgomery about forty eight hours. ♦ A“Wlctim” of Tyrannical Laws, Mr. Robert Russell, who formerly lived iu Schoharie county, N. Y., now resides in the city of Albany. Russell appears to be the victim of unpropitious circumstances. Russell has an unhappy faculty of doing business contrary to law. On Tuesday last Mr. Russell was arres ted for the eleventh time since spring set in. We give his examination: “Well, Russell,” said the magistrate, “you are here again, I perceive.” “Yes, sir. The fact is, ’Squire, I’m a wictim. Blow me, if I care what Bob Russell docs, be is sure to violate some law or other. When I came to Albany, I says to myself: ‘Russell, my boy, we’ll take a hunt to-morrow, and try them fox hounds.’ Well, sir, out I goes, nnd what do you think ? Before I got to the next corner, Barney Whalen tapped me on the shoulder, and says, “That’s against the law.” “What’s against the law ?” I replies, and he says, “Having dogs in tho street, without muzzles.” “Ho accordingly arrested me, and had me brought to the police court. The re sult of that piece of fun was a line of §5.” “Well, what did you do then ?” “Listen, aud I’ll tell you. Isold the fox hounds to one of Aunt I’ut’s friends for §2O. With tho proceeds I bought a sow and fivo pigs. I took them home, built a pen in the back yard, aud thought all my troubles were at an end, but I was mistaken. Officer Bradwell came upon me the next morning, and says : ‘‘Russell, keeping hogs in the yard is agin tho law.” “ I doubted it. This riled officer Brad well, who had mo arrested again. This time I was fined $5.” “And what did you afterwards ?” “I sold my cow and my pigs, and bought a horse and cart, nnd undertook to draw wood. The very first load 1 put on drew the attention of policeman Sick- ! Ds, who said that driving a cart without j license was agin the law. Ho arrested | ®e for that offence, which caused me j Mother fine of $5. “What did you do next?” “I sold tho horse and cart, and bought j naif of a charcoal wagon.” “Well, what success did you meet with after that?” “Tho same old luck, sir. The first day I commenced peddling policeman Shooks took me by the collar, and says, “Russell, that’s agiu the law, old fel low.” “What’s agin the law ‘!” I said. “Ho replied— “ Selling charcoal in a wooden meas ure.” “That cost me a fino of $3. “Hid that drive you out of tho charcoal business ?” “Yes, Bir; I sold out, and thought I would try my fortune in carrying baggage between tho steamboats and rail roads, “bat’s the uso ? I only commoucod work to-day, and hero 1 am again.” “What for, now ?” “I-or soliciting baggage without a per mit from the Mayor. From the New Oilcans Picayune. r pilE purity of this Whisky is certified to by tho X leading Northern men of science, such as Dr. Chilton, the noted New York Chemist. A friend of ours who understands such things, tells us this “Aromatic” is a good “Aromatic;” and as he is reliable, we can safely recommend this Valley Whisky to those in need of a good article. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From tho New Orleans Crescent. Not a particle of strychnine in it—the beet we have tusted for many a day. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WIIISEY. From the Daily True Delta. New Orleans. Though not much of a judge, we may say, and we are endorsed by frionds who are. tba: the ‘•Aromatic Valley Whisky,” the very poetry of “Old Monougaliela,” manufactured by Wnt. H. Daly, is unequaled for “Purity” and “Flavor” by any in the market. DALY S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Memphis Daily Appeal. It is pronounced by good judges to be free from all deleterious or foreign substances, and conse | quently it should take the place of all poisonous | admixtures, which exercise so unwholesome an inlluence upon those who use them, where they are consumed at alb The noxious beverages tha’t are generally intended for Whisky are an imposi tion and a curse. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Georgia Citizen. It is a pleasant, unctuous stimulant, peculiarly adapted to the cure of'invalids who need a pure tonic , without much of the alcoholic principle. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Galveston Era. We have no hesitation in pronouncing it equal, if not superior, to any we have ever drank. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Memphis Eagle and Enquirer. It has been p.onounced by the highe.-t scientific aud medical authority a pure and healthy stimu lant, entirely free from deleterious admixture. We can recommend it with perfect confidence to those who require an alcoholic stimulant for medicinal purposes. “Dale’s Valley Whisky” is superior to Gin,Cordial, French Brandy, Port and Madeira Wines, and indeed all other varieties of spirits wbieh are sold in this market, for one of them can be found in a pure state. No intelli gent physician would have the rashness to pre scribe “Port Wine” or ‘‘French Brandy” fur a pa tient, when it is patent to all the world that they are not to be had, except by base compounds, in the Mississippi Valley. I would recommend it as suitable for medicinal and public purposes. CHAS. T. JACKSON. State Ass aver, Boston. It is without any deleterious admixture. JAS. R. CHILTON, M. D.. New York. Entirely free from adulterating ingredients, so frequently used. • JAS. J. MATES, New York. Consumers can depend upon getting a pure article when they buy the Valley Whisky, as it is sold by the bottle and case only. W.M. H. DALY, Sole Proprietor, 19 South William street. New York.
