It was a SMi'lay, uni while all the
church hells in linglancl were calling
people to prayer the ontinona le com
menced’ V’tery boty was in expectation
of a Saltlo. It was known in Knglnnd
that Napoleon Im I eros*e I oer into the
Nelherlaml- an.l that Wellington was
ready to inert him News was (low of
coining an i people's hearts were sick
with the expectation of the next mail.
It chanced that between services on that
eventful .Sunday a clergyman in Kenr
was walking in his garden, ilia gard
ener was un old soldier who had fought
in Spain. He said : “There's a fight go
ing on, sir, somewhere, for I remember
when we were in the Peninsula we always j
knew when a cannonade was taking place,
wherever it might he, by a crumbling of
fresh mould.” Ho took a spade and dug
down a single foot, ami along the smooth
surface left by the steel an imperceptible
troubling shook down little pellets of .
the soil. “Thai's it, sir,” said the gar- i
dener, “they're fit it sure enough.” Jse- J
fore the next .Sunday came round the
news had spread from end to end of the j

Singular Disease.
We understand that a considerable
number of cows—some dozen or more, in i
tbo neighborhood of Ann street and the I
Spring Hill Hoad, have during the last
two weeks bcon allceted with a disease
which nobody has yet succeeded in ac- |
counting for. It manifests itself by blind- j
ness, occasionally of otic eye, but geno- !
rally of both; the organ assuming ai
whitish and glossy oppearanco. The !
blindness is so complete that the animals
while grazing willarun ngainst a fence. ‘
The disease is accompanied by a falling
off in tlie condition of tbc cows, but wo
have not heard of any of them having
died, and we have been toid that some
persons have continued to use their milk
without any unpleasant consequences,
though we should regard the course ns
highly injudicious. —Mobile .Vrrnin/.

THE liIVER
INVIGORATOR.
PREPARED BY DK. SANFORD,
Compounded entirely from Gums,
IS one of the best Purgatives and Liver Medicines
now before the public that acts as a'Catha/lic,
easier, milder, aud more effectual than any other
medicine known. It is not only a Cathartic, but a
Liver remedy, acting first on the Liver to eject its
uioibid matter, then on the stomach and bowels to
curry oil that matter, thus accomplishing two pur
poses effectually, without any of the pa nful feel
ings experienced in the operation of most Cathar
tics. It strengthens the system at the same time
that it purges it; aud when taken daily iu moder
ate doses, will strengthen and build it up with
unusual rapidity.
Tho Liver is one of jey the principal regula
tors of the human ho- {j** dy; aud whou it per
forms its functions . well, the powers ure
fully developed. The stomach is airnost en
tirely dependent on Y tho healthy action ol
tho Liver for the per- formance of its func
tions; when the atom- h? uch is at fault, the
bowels are at fault, £J and the whole system
suffers in consequence of out* organ—the
Liver —having ceased W to do its duty. For
the diseases of that organ, one of the pro
prietors lias made it a his study, in a practice !
of more than twenty () years, to find some j
remedy wherewith to counteract the many
derangements to kJ which it is liable.
To prove that this remedy is at lostfouud,
any person troubled with Liver Com
plaint, iu any of ito |—J forms, has but to try a
nettle, and conviction is certain.
These Gunm remove y all morbid or bad mat
ter from the system, supplying in their
place & healthy flow oi (jj bile, invigorating the i
stomach, causing food to digest well, puri
fy iug the bloody giving tone and health
to the whole machine I LJ ry, removing the cause
of the disease—effect ing a radical cure.
Bilious attacks are are cured, and, what
is better, prevented, H jy the occasional use ‘
ot the Liver Invigo- rator.
One dose utter bating Jis sufficient to relieve )
the stomach and pre- veut the food from ;
rising and souring. j i
Ouly quo dose taken , , before retiring, pre
vents Nightmare. rn
Only one dose taken i L** at night, loosens tho
bowels gently, and t ;cures Costiveness.
One dose taken after m each meal will cure
Dyspepsia. &
One dose of two tea-spoonfuls will al
ways relieve Sick Headache.
One bottle taken for M female obstruction re
moves the cause of the disease, and makes a
perfect cure. Ty
Only one doseimme- £J iiatoly relieves Chol
ic, while 1
One dose, often re i peated, is a sure cure ;
for Cholera Morbus, and a preventive of
Cholera. i
Only one buttle in needed to throw out of j
the system the effects H of medicine after a
Long sickness.
One bottle taken for j Jaundice removes
all sallowness or un- natural color from the
skin.
One dose taken a A short time before eat
ing gives vigor to the appetite, and makes
food digest well.
One dose often re- rj ipeated, cures Chronic j
Diarrhoea in its worst uy forms, while Summer :
and Bowel complaints| yield almost to the
first dose. ,
Ono or two doses JK cures attacks caused
by Worms iu Chil r dren; there is no surer,
safer, or speedier rem- edy iu the world, as it
never fails. L3
A few bottles cures Dropsy, by exciting i
the absorbents. _
We take pleasure iu f"j recommending this ■
medicine as a proven- tive for Fever and
Ague, Chill Fevei, aud all Fevers of a
Bilious Type. Itoper- m ates with certainty,
and thousands are wil- ling to testify to its
wonderful virtues. ,
All who used it are giving their uuammoub tes
timony in its favor.
&#~Mix water in tho mouth with the Invigora
tor, aud swallow both together.
TIIE LI VEIL INVIGORATOR
Is a Scientific Medical Discovery, aud is daily work-
almost too great for belief. It cures as if
by magic, even the first dose giving benefit, and
seldom more than one bottle is required to cure
any kind of Liver Complaint, from tho worst Jaun
dice or Dyspepsia to a common Headache, all of
which are the result of a DISEASED LIVER.
