Some of our readers are doubtless aware that the steamer Fashion, of fili buster notoriety, has been for a short time lying across the river at Algiers, for the alleged purpose of haviag her boiler repaired, and otherwise refitting. Upon the Captain’s application to day, we learn that the Collector refused to clear the Fashion for Texas. Since the Fashion was engaged two years ago in taking General Walker and men lo Nicaragua, she has been steadily engaged in the Texas cattle trade between Mobile nnd Galveston. She is owned, w believe, by two butchers in Mobile, and is commanded by Captain John I’, Smith. The Fashion was first built for the Lake trado between New Orleans und Mobile, by Captnin Fullerton, afterwnrds pur chased by the United States government for a transport, and finally condemned by a board of survey. Since she was con demned, she has been patched over nDd kept afloat by Captain Smith, a bold and daring commander.— N. O. Delta, Oth. Meeting of Kentucky Legislature. Frankfort, Ky., Dc.
