DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISZYI From the New Orleans Picuyuue. 1MI K parity of this Whisky is certified to by the leading Northern men of science, such as Dr. Chilton, the noted New York Chemist. A friend of ours who understands such things, tolls us this “Aromatic” is a good “Aromatic;” and as hula reliable, we can safely recommend this Valley Whisky to those iu need of a good article. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From tho Naw Orleans Crescent. Not a particle of strychnine in it—the best we have tasted for many a day. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Daily True Delta, New Orleans. Though not much of a judge, we may say, aud we are endorsed by frioudH who are, that tho “Aromatic Valley Whisky,” the very poetry of “Old Monongabela,” manufactured by Wm. H. Daly, is unequaled for “Purity” and “Flavor” by any iu the market. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Memphis Daily Appeal. It is pronounced by good judges to be fruofrom all deleterious or foreigu substauces, and conse quontly it should take the place of all poisonous admixtures, which exercise no unwholesome an influence upon thoso who uso them, where ihey are consumed nt all. The noxious beverages that are generally intended for Whisky are an imposi tion and a curse. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Georgia Citizen. It is a pluANant, unctuous stimulaut, peculiarly adapted to the cure of invalid# who need a pure tonic , without much of the alcoholic principle. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Galveston Era. We have no hesitation iu pronouncing it equal, if not superior, to any wo have ever drank. DALY’S AROMATIC VALLEY WHISKY. From the Memphis Eagle and Kuquiror. It has hoen pronounced by the highest scientific aud medical authority a pure and healthy stimu lant, entirely free from deleterious admixture. We can recommend it with perfect confidence to those who require an alcoholic stimulant for medicinal purjtoses. “Dalj’a Valley W’hisky” is superior to Gin,Cordial, French Brandy, Port and Madeira Wines, and indued all other varieties of spirits which are sold in this market, for not ono of them can be found in a pure state. No intelli gent physician would have the rashness to pre scribe “Port Wine” or “French Brandy” for a pa tient, when it is patent to all the world that they are not to be had, except by base compounds, in tho Mississippi Valley. 1 would recommend it us suitable for medicinal aud public purposes. CHAS. T. JACKSON, State Ass aver, Boston. It is without any deleterious admixture. JAS.R. CHILTON, M. D., Nuw York. Entirely freo from adulterating ingredients, so frequently used. JAS. J. MAPES, New York. Consumerscan depend upon getting a pure article when they buy the Valley Whisky, as it is sold by the bottle and case only. WM. H. TO THE MERCHAN TS OF THE South and South-W est ——— ■■■ WE, the undersigned, importer* and Jobbers in the City of Charleston, in view of the present excited state of the country, deem it pro per to bring to the notice of the interior Mer chants the claims we Imre to their patronage and custom. The majority of us have been long estab lished in businesa, mid from our experience are well acquainted with the wunta of this section of couutry. All of uh hold sentiments in common on the agitating question of the day—Rlavery; and all of us desire, as far as practicable, to be come commercially independent of the North. We have no desire to underrate the energy aud enterprise of the Merchants of Northern cities, but we claim tube able to supply goods in our re spective lines on as favorable terms, both as to price and credit, as the mcrchanta of any city in the Union. We have facilities for obtaining goods from Europe not surpassed by any, and our im portations from abroad are very large, notwith standing the reports to the contrary, circulated by those who have no knowledge of what they affirm, or whose interest prompts them to mislead American goods we obtain from the manufac turers on as favorable terms as any Jobbing Mer chants of the Northern cities. Why then should we not be able to sell on as favorable terms as others? Wo are able aud determined to do so, aud all we ask of you is, to try this market, lay aside the prejudice—for it is only a prejudice—that your customers prefer goods from New York to those from Charleston, aud build up and encourage your own Seaport* and your own Merchants. If we cannot do what we profess, yqu will be sub jected to very little inconvenience, for opportu nities of leaving by railwuy or steamer are offered every twelve hours. Our Stocks will ho complete by the Ist of Feb ruary next, and it remains to be seen how many of those who have heretofore purs based all their goods in Northern cities will give Charleston a trial this Spring. The Richmond Dispatch alluding to a recent report of a contemplated outbreak in Goocklaud County, Virginia says a ne gro informed his master that be had been applied to by a white man to join a plot for murdoring and robbing woalthy per sons and stores in the neighborhood; that forty had already joined it; and that the first to be robbed was Mr. Mor ris Woodward, who, it was alleged, had a large amount of cash in his house uud buried neurit; but ho (the uegro) pre ferred to reveal the plot, which he ac cordingly did. Tho facts were made known to tho authorities, and the Sheriff with a posse went, after a ruse, to as certain whether tho negro’s story was correct, aud arrested one Manly, who told them ho was but the tool of two oth ers, named Farmer and Radford. They proceeded to arrest Farmer, who made a violent resistance, using a knife; and in attempting to take it from him, Sheriff Ayers’ hand was cut. Farmer professed entire ignorance of the plot. Radford submitted quietly to arrest, and was af terwards released. Farmer was held in custody in consequence of his having used the knife, and Manly is still in jail. The affair oocurcd on tho 26th ult., about six miles above Goochland Court House. Tlte Pirate Captain's Story. Tho London papers, received by the Canado, contain tho following under the head of “Mutiny and Piracy.” Captain Walker is no doubt the toi disant Captain Martin, and the “ schooner William” the notorious yacht Wanderer, now in Boston harbor: The purser of the African mail steam er Ethiope, reports from Teueritfe, that on the 24th of November, at 9 p. m., a boat containing Captain George Walker and four men of the American schooner William, was left off that port by the French bark Bose Marguerite. Captain Walker, with his boat’s crew, shortly af terwards landed aud made the following statement, before the Captain-General of the Island, and tho British and American Consuls, which has been corroborated by bis men: He left Savannah on the 24th of October, in the United States Schooner William, with a crew of thirteen men and two passengers, females, hound to Symr un. Jle had also on board $27,000 in cash, and some bales of silk. Four days alter leaving he experienced bad weather from N. E., which compelled him to steer S. S. E. for forty hours, as far as latitude 20.10 N. On tho 21st November, the schooner was in latitude 20.10 N., long. 20 W., when ho spoke tho French bark Jenny, cf Marseilles, bound to Msrtin ique; and, as his provisions had been damaged by bad weather, he hailed the bark, launched his boat, and accompa nied by four of bis crew, he boarded her iu search of a fresh supply. The mate, meanwhile, was left in charge of the schooner, and was ordered to keep her elose astern of the Jenny. Captain Walker had made one journey to and from the bark, but on his returning to the schooner a second time, the mate made all sail, ami completely abandoned him with his four men in the small boat. He made overy effort to give chase, but darkness shortly after set in and the schooner was lost sight of. On the fol lowing day they were picked up by the French bulk Rose Marguerite, Captain Brussou, und left near Teneriffe, as stated above In the protest which has been entered by Captain Walker before the Consuls, he swore thnt from the proceed ings of those on board of his schooner af ter he left her, which he could partly see during tbo four hours he was in chase, ho believed that the mate, whose name isT J. Walton, intended to make away with the vessel, aud get clear off with the $27,000, which wus in Spanish doubloons. The master of the Bose Marguerite bad addressed a letter to the French Consul of Teneriffe, and stated that he had picked up Captain Wulker and four of his crew in a small boat lit sea. Captain Walker and his crew, whose names are Cbarlefl Hunter, Peter Lynch, Frank Joseph aud John Raylars, arrived in Liverpool as passengers by tho steamer Ethiope, which ulso brought tho boat in which Captain Walker and his men had been aban doned.
