Notwithstanding all that is reported by newspaper correspondents to tbc contra ry, we are disposed to believe that there is not a solitary member of the Senate who has definitely made up his mind to vote against the Mexican treaty. Ono of two things is certain if that treaty shall be rejected—European inter vention in (lie affairs of Mexico, or tho invasion of that country by illicit expedi tions from tho United States. In the for mer ease tho Union would be subjected to unfriendly neighborhood, besides losing almost a monopoly of tho commerce and navigation which tho treaty is so well calculated to secure, hi the latter case, cxcessivo deeds of outlawry would be perpetrated, and Mexican nationality eventually destroyed. It would become the land of desperate freebooters, who would concentrate there from every port, of the globe for tho consummation of schemes of plunder. This view of the subject will no doubt bo duly considered by the co-ordinate brunch of the treaty making power before it assumes so grave a responsibility ns to defeat a measure which will prevent tho one occurrence and the other.— RUitca. - ■ New Debt Collection Law • The following bill has been ordered to ft third reading in the Wisconsin Assem bly, (House of Representatives:) Section 1.
