These figures indicate an increase in the cot
ton in sight to date of 145,432 bales as com
pared with the same date of 1880, an increase
of 407.452 bales as compared with the corre
sponding date of 1979, and an increase of 59. ,04.
bales as compared with 1878.
India Cotton Movement from all Ports.—
The figures which are now collected for us, and
forwarded by cable each Friday, of the ship
ments from Calcutta, Madras, Tuticorin. Car
war, eta. enables us, in connection with our
previously received report from Bombay, to
furnish our readers with a full and complete
India movement for each week. We first give
the Bombay statement for the week and year,
bringing the figures down to November 24.

According to the foregoing Bombay appears
to show an increase compared with last year
in the week's receipts of 10.000 bales, and an in
crease in shipments of 9,000 bales, while the
shipments since January 1 show an increase of
44,000 bales.
FINANCIAL.
Money Market.—Money market is stringent
and very unsatisfactory to borrowers.
Domestic Ekchanok.—The banks and bank
ers are buying sight drafts at per cent, dis
count: selling checks at H P cent, to par,
according to amount.
Sterling Exchange —Sixty day bills, with
bills lading attached, buying at *4 T7>4.
Seccritbis —The stock market Is very quiet,
but holders are firm at quotations.
