On Wednesday, as H. E. Kreut ' was
going to Toontsboro, while passing a
liouae he saw a negro women walking to
ward it. Suddenly the woman gave a
scream and commenced wtinging her
hands and tearing her hair, then falling

wails. The actions of the woman were

Last Thurs lay evening about sunset it

merchandise. The shoe shop owned by
Henry Freeman (.colored ) 'V. A. Kellv A
Bros., two barns, besides the st''re occu
pied by Benton Brvvs.. and Hr. Hreddus’
office, and a blacksmith shop were all
oonsumtd. None of them were Insured.
Benton Bros, managed to get out most of

Scott, and they were surprised to find
Mr. Scott lying across the bed undressed.

the last person to see Mr. Scott, who went
out during the night, leaving his watch, |
hat and coat and his horse mid buggy.
He was tracked tor some two hundred
yards, going toward tjuitmnn. and beside j

country, dragging the wells and streams,
supposing that he has committed suicide,
but the slightest clue to hi- whereabouts

apprised of the bad behavior of the

Friday noon last Dr. and Mrj>. K. Lind
ner, ol Anthony, were tiring the dead
grass around their barn, and watched tue

they went into the house, threw them

They were aroused by the roaring of
flatties to find that their barn was afire,
but so far advanced that assistance wa*
of no avail and everything in it was de
