TO THE PUBLIC.--This preparation has acquired a very extended and established celeb rity in most cf the Southern States of the Union—both in the hands of Physicians and private use —which its efficacy alone has sustained for several years, as a remedy for Scrofula or King’s Evil, Ulcerated Sore Throat, long standing Rheumatic Affections, Diseases of the Skin, old Sores, White Swellings, Diseases of the Bones, and all cases of an ulcerous character. It is also particularly useful in chronic and nervous complaints occurring in debilitated and cachetic con stitutions. In all complicated cases of Scrofula and Syphilis, and in cases where the Syphilitic virus of the parent causes a development of Syphilis or Scrofula in the child, this is the only remedy upon which the hope of recovery can be reasonably founded. It relieves the disease, and at the same time imparts vigor to the whole system —under the use of this medicine, the patient is enabled to take nourishing food, which in other practice is withheld. In many cases where the horrible ravages of disease have taken so deep root that patients have been given up by the most skilful Physicians, the disease has been arrested and the pa tient restored to good health, &c., and the most rea sonable expectations fully satisfied. The cures performed in this city alone, are suffi cient to establish its reputation on a permanent basis, and too solid to be effected either by the malignant or envious. It is worthy of note that the greater part of the patients cured, had previously to using this pre paration, received the best medical treatment and given up by their Physicians, as being beyond the reach of medical skill. It is, however, advisable that it should be given, if practicable, under the superin tendence of a Physician, for him to prescribe such other remedies in conjunction with this, as the neces sity of the case may require. This preparation has put into the hands of Physicians a remedy by which they can master a variety of diseases, which have hith erto baffled the greatest skill and study. The following striking, and as will be seen, per raanent cure of an inveterate case of Scrofula, com mends itself to all similarly afflicted : Southport, Conn., January 1, 1848 — Messrs. Sands: Gentlemen—Sympathy tor the afflicted in duces me to inform you of the remarkable cure effect ed by your Sarsaparilla in the case of my wife. She was severely afflicted with the Scrolula on different parts of the body ; the glands of the neck were great ly enlarged and her limbs much swollen. After suf fering over a year and finding no relief from the rem edies used, the disease attacked one leg, and below the knee suppurated. Her physician advised itshould be laid open, which was done, but without any per manent benefit. In this situation we heard of, and was induced to try Sands’ Sarsaparilla. The first bottle produced a decided and favorable effect, re lieving her more than any prescription she had ever taken, ami before she had used six bottles, to the as tonishment and delight of her friends, she found her health quite restored. It is now over a year since the cure was effected, and her health remains good, show ing the disease was thoroughly eradicated from the system.
