DODGE, ARTIST, would inform the citizens of Augusta and vicinity, that he intends returning to his Rooms in Augusta, next door to the Post-Office, about the first of October. Trl-Weekly Report Thursday, P. M. COTTON.—There was a good demand yesterday, both for old and new Cottons ; about 600 bales were sold at very full prices. To-day the demand contin ued and new Cottons were bought up as soon as of fered at slightly improved prices ; although we heard of no sales over 10 cents, yet that price was obtained for lots classing Middling Pair to Pair. STOCKS.—SaIes of 200 shares Georgia Railroad Stock were made yesterday, SAVANNAH, Sept. 19. — Cotton, —Arrived since the 12th instant, 1,533 bales Upland and 5 do. Sea Island. (626 from Augusta, 907 per Railroad.) The exports for the same period have been 4,253 bales Upland, and 359 do. Sea Island, viz : to New York 4,021 bales do., and 323 Sea Island ; to Philadelphia 192 bales Upland ; and to Charleston 45 bales do. — leaving on hand and on shipboard not cleared, a stock of 6,287 bales Upland and 245 do. Sea Island, against 5,274 bales Upland and 938 do. Sea Island at same time last year. Since our review of the market, on the 12th inst., the weather has been warmer than in the previous week, and much bettter for the planters. The pre vailing winds have been from the Northeast, but without rain, and consequently very favorable for harvesting Rice as well as picking Cotton. Imme diately after the close of our last report we received telegraphic accounts from Liverpool, per Steamer Europa, to the Ist inst. These accounts have rather tended to check the demand in our market and it closes quietly, with a feeling in favor of buyers, but no change that can be noticed in quotations. We re peat those of last week r Ordinary to good ordinary, 8J aß| ; middling to good middling, dg a 9|; mid dling fair, 9i a 9f ; fair, 9| a 10. The transactions in Upland since the Ist instant, amount to 1,044 bales, at the following rates : 42 at 9; 7 at 9|; 28 at 9£: 59 at 9 11-16; 289 at 9j; 7 at 9J; 601 at 10 ; and 11 at lOJ cts. Sea Island. —The stock on hand is now very small and we have not heard of a single transaction for the week. STATEMENT OF UPLAND COTTON. 1849-50 1348-49. The only sales that have come under our notice are 25 tierces at S2J; 50 at $3; 75 at s3|, and 30 at s3* per 100 lbs. One cargo of new Roqgh Rice, 3,200 bushels, has been received from the Ogechee and sold by private con tract. Clour. —The crops of wheat in the interior of our State were much injured by the late frosts, and we do not therefore receive the usual supplies of Flour from that quarter. We notice the sale of 75 bbls. Baltimore at s6s. Coffee. —The only sale reported was one lot of 40 bags Rio at cents. Sugar. —29 hhds. New Orleans inferior, sold at 6 cents. Domestic Liquors.—The market is well supplied and we notice sales of 50 bbls. N. O. Whiskey at 24 cents. Salt. The sales of 250 sacks Liverpool coarse, at SI, are all the transactions we have to report this week. Bagging. —We notice sales of 70 bales Gunny at 20 a 20£ cts. Bale Rfipe. —soo coils Kentucky sold at 10 \ and 150 do. Russia at 10J cts. Exchange. —The rate for Sterling is nominally 7 per cent, prein. Domestic rates are but little chang ed ; the Banks sell sight checks on all Northern cities at £ per cent, prem., and buy sight to 5 day bills at par ; 30 days at f per cent, dis., and 60 days at per cent, discount. Ereights. —There are few shipments going for ward lor foreign ports, and the rates are therefore nominal. The rates coastwise are dull at the follow ing rates ;to New York a 5-16 c. for Cotton, and 75 a 87£c. for Rice; to Boston and Philadelphia, 5-16 for Cotton, and 87£c. per tierce for Rice, NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 14, P. The disease cannot prevail generally on account of the lateness of the sea son. The cases that have occurred, have gen erally originaed from exposure or neglect. You may depend on our report.
