The sales are 1,000 bales at 13 to 13} cents. Prices have declined full } cent. A private despatch received tc-day quotes Pair 13} cents. From the Charleston Courier—By Telegraph New York Market , Alov. 17—The Cotton market at New York on Saturday was droop ing. and too unsettled to give quotations. The day’s sales amounted to 500 bale?, and 6000 for the week. Flour, common, s4|. Coffee and Sugar were in little demand, and the articles have a downward tendency. Exchange on England was steady at 10}. Later by the Franklin —The steamer Frank lin, from Havre, arrived at New York the same day as the Cambria from Liverpool. She furnishes, however, a few items of a later dale from the Comment. At the time of her sailing German affairs were in an unsettled state.— Austria and Prussia were at loggerheads, and Denmark and the Duchies were by no means on friendly terms. Abolition Meeting in Boston Dispersed. —An Abolition Meeting which was held in Faneuil Hall, Boston, on Friday evening, complimenta ry to George Thompson, the English Abolition ist, was completely broken up by the more sensible portion of the community. Thompson and his companions were hissed out. The steamer Cambria arrived at Boston on Saturday night. Baltimore, Nov, 17.— Nashville Convention. —ln the Convention on Satin day the report from the Com miltee was discussed, in which Gen. Pillow opposed h, and stated that as great as were the aggressions of the North on the South, they did not justify such extreme measures as the report of the Committee con templated. I. Col. Polk, from Tenuess J moved to strike out the entire report and resolutions offered by the Alabama Delegation. He wanted it to he distinctly staled whether they went for Union or Disunion. Pending the discussion of this motion, the Convention adjourned over to Monday. New Orleans Market, Nov. 15, P. M.—Fif teen hundred bales Cotton sold to day, estab lishing a decline of one eighth to one quar ter of a cent. Middling 13 u The week’s sales were 15 500 bales. New Orleans, Nov. 16, P. M. —Yesterday five hundred bales Cotton were sold, and prices have become somewhat more steady since the Cambria’s news. Sugar has further declined an eighth, fair 4| to 5. Whiskey has gone down to 27. Buckley’s Conductors were used for the first time to day. Mobile transmitted a mes sage instantaneously to Washington. From the Baltimore Sun—By 7 elegraph. Further by the Cambria. Halifax, Nov. 15. — The steamer Cambria arrived here this morning, with 53 passengers, and Liverpool dates to the 2d inst. The political advices are somewhat more in teresting than usual, though not very impor tant. England —The Church of England through her ministers and bishops, seconded by the journals, is calling for penal enactments to ex tinguish the new titles assumed by the Roman Hierarchy A deputation of the clergy waited upon the Bishop of London, who cordially received them, and expressed his entire satis faction with the nature of the address the depu tation bad prepared, and strongly urged them to prepare a formal address to the Throne, to be delivered at this crticai period. France. —The difficulties between Changar nier and President Napoleon have not yet beea reconciled. It is said that the Turkish government has demanded the good offices of France and En gland against the menacing movements of Austria and the demands of h«r Cabinet. Numerous arrests of conspirators have been made at Lyons. Advices from Algiers state that the Cholera had re appeared there with great violence, and that in two days one hundred and fifty persons fell victimes to the fatal malady. Hesse Cassel —The German papers receiv ed on Wednesday confirm the accounts re specting the movements of the Austrian troops in auoport of the Bavarian force about to enter the Electorate of Hesse. A telegraph dispatch of the 29th from the Cassel states that an army of Bavarian troops was hourly expected to en ter the Electorate. Germany —A telegraphic despatch from Berlin, dated 30ih, states that information had been received from Warsaw to the effect that Russia’s proposals had been peremptorily re fused, and that Denmark was not willing to accede to the proposals of the Danish and German commission to settle the Danish diffi culties. The correspondent of the Loudon Times writes from Berlin, stating that nothing has occurred during the proceedings of Congress at Warsaw, to lessen the hope that it* issue will be favorable to peace. The Austria Times correspondent, writing from Vienna under date of 28lh October, states that public feeling has been aroused, that even the most apathetic boldly declare they would have no objection to shoulder their mus kets against Prussia. The Austrians are de termined not to yield in the federal question. There is nothing from Ireland orother parts of Europe possessing general or special inter est. Tiie Markets. Havre Market.— Telegraphic advices have been received from Havre up to Thursday evening, which state that the cotton market was rather calm and ransactions limited. Very ordinary middling was selling at 118 f. 50c. The week’s sales were 1,400 bales. Telegraph advices from London bring advices from Bombay to Oct. 2d, Calcutta Sept. 21st, and from Alexandria to Oct. 21st Except in a commer cial point of view the news ia destitute of interest. At Calcutta the supplies of produce were less abun dant than usual, and prices generally firm. Sugars had advanced ; also, Lancashire Cottons, many hold ers refusing to sell at any price. At Alexandria, prices of all kinds of produce were sustained except wheat, which had delined a trifle.
