THE GREAT EXHIBITION.
A HYMN P 0» ALL NATIONS ; 1851.
By the author of “Proverbial Philosophy .”
Glorious God! on Thea we call,
Father, Friend and Judge of all;
Holy Saviour, heavenly King,
Homage to Thy throne we bring.
In the wonders all around,
Ever is Thy Spirit found,
And of each good thing we see
All the good is born of Thee 1
Thine the beauteous skill that lurks
Every where in Nature’s works—
Thine is Art, with all its worth,
Thine each masterpiece on earth !
Yea, —and, foremost in the van,
Springs from Thee the Mind of M an;
On its light, fer this is Thine,
Shed abroad the love divine 1
Lo, our God ! Thy Children hers
From all realms are gathered near,
Wisely gathered, gathering still,
For “peace on earth, tow’rds men good will!”
May we with fraternal mind,
Bless our Brothers of mankind I
May we through redeeming love,
He the blest of God above 1

COTTON.—There was a spirited demand to-day,
and aa the quantity offering was very limited, factors
obtained an advance of }c. upon the rotes of yester
day.
SAVANNAH, March 21.— Cotton. —Our last
weekly report closed with a dull and unsettled iaar
neßday the market was quiet, with
sales of 5:>2 bales; on Th irsday the same feeling
prevailed—sales 763 bales; on Friday there was a
little more firmness noticed, sales 625 bales, at full
prices. On Saturday 522 bales changed hands
on Sunday the telegraph announced the arrival of
the Asia. Our market opened on Monday with an
improvement of } to f ct. on the lower qualities and
|c. on the finer sorts, sales of the day 428 hales; on
Tuesday 1,078 bales changed hands, on Wednesday

variation in prices since Monday, though the market
was slightly affected by unfavorable accounts from

Sea Islands. —We learn that some holders have
withdrawn their stocks from the market, rather thaa
sell at present rates. The transactions have been at
about the same prices as last week, though the feel
ing is in favor of buyers. The sales amount to 655
bales, at the following particulars : 33 at 19, 26 at 20,

There is little more doing Coastwise this week, the
rates are to New York 5-16 for square and f for
round Cotton; to Philadelphia} a 7-16. There is
but little offering for Baltimore, and the rates are
nominal. No vessel up for Boston,
MOBILE, March 17. — Cotton. — The market
opened this morning with the same degree of firm
ness noticed at its closing on Saturday. Factors
acting with much caution, offering very sparingly,
and only such parcels as are under immediate in
structions. Middling may bo quoted at 10 a 10}c,
Even-running parcels, on their own merits, are rela
tively dearer. Sales 2000 bales, for English, Euro
pean and Eastern orders. Sales on Saturday 1000
bales.
CHARLESTON, March 22. Cotton.— There
was a moderately fair demand for Cotton yesterday,
which resulted in the sale of fully 1,600 bales. The
