Dec. 19.—Last night about 8 o’clock p. in., a fire broke out in the exten sive Tobacco stcminerv of AlcClure & Brow der. destroying the buildings and 5-1,000 worth of Tobacco. Partly insured. Next catching the large Porkery owned by Chamberlain, con suming the whole building and a large amount of hugs and lard, besides numerous adjoining bu (dings. Los- estimated at about SSU,(MJO, with but little insurance. The weather continues very cold. The river is complet-ly gorged with ice. The steamer Louisa left here on the 17th, bound for Padu cah, is lying about 12 miles below unable to go either up or down. Mady of tho passengers have returred to this place. [ Telegraphed for the Charleston Courier.] Washington, Dec. 21. A dispatch received at the State Department, announces that Louis Napoleon had dissolved the National Assemblj' of France, taken command of the army, and sent all the conspirators to Vincennes including Changarnier. Two mem bers of the Assembly had been killed at the bar ricades. Paris has been declared to be in a state of siege. Nkw-Ouleans, Dec. 22,11 P. M. On Monday, barely two thousand bales of Cot ton were disposed of. The Europa’s advices, however, occasioned a decline of an eighth to a quarter of a cent. Molasses has declined, and prime is only worth 21 cents. Exchange on London is quoted at 8§ to UJ premium. Drafts on New-Yorkat sixty days are-at Irom 2 to 24 discount. The Empire City has at length arrived, bring six hundred passengers and 5900,000 in gold dust in the hands of passengers. France, at the latest dates, was quiet. The I President has proved entirely successful, and all j attempts at resistance had been wholly extin : guished.
