COMMERCIAL. AIIUIIBTA MAB&ET. Saturday, P. M. COTTON.—The sales to-day show a decline of ?, to }sc. from the highest point. We hear of a sale of a lot of 176 bales Middling Fair at P}s cents. Liverpool Market. Extract# of letter* received per Asia. LIVERPOOL, May 21. —Slate of Trade. —Business con tinues active in the manufacturing districts, but the ad vance in Cotton interferes somewhat with the Manchester trade. Cotton. —The activity we noticed in our report of Friday list continued till Monday, and very full prices were paid for all descriptions of Cotton. On Tuesday and Wednesday was slack, the sales being each day only 6,000 or 7,‘tdO bales, and prices were easier. Yesterday the tele graphic reports of advices per Franklin advising farther advance in the United States’ markets, caused more firm ness here, and the week closes slightly below our quotations < T 14th. Cotton continues to be very freely offered, but speculators are ready to operate at any decided decline. The week’s -ales amount to 89,480 bates, including 28,780 bales on speculation and 14,260 bales for export. The sales to-day are 10.000 ; the market steady. We quote fair Or leans 6,'ad.; middling 5}%d.; do. Mobiles s}sd.; middling s had.; do. I pland 55. d.; middling 5 to o^d. Corn. —The weather during the week has been very fa vorable for our growing crop*. A good deal of rain has fal len, with alternate sunshine, causing much benefit to the somewhat backward vegetation. Flour and Wheat have been in fair demand, and in the absence of any pressing sellers the full prices of last week have been obtainable. — Indian Corn l as beerj. sold on easier terms, and the decline has caused rather more inquiry for it. At to-day > market there was a fair demand for Wheat, and the choice qualities are 1 to 2d. dearer on the week. — Holders of Indian Corn arc asking 81s. for yellow, but this price is present above the views of buyers.— A. Dennis toun c 5 Co. LIVERPOOL, May 21. <’>>tton. —The total sales of the week, which are again touch in excess of the daily estimates, amount to 89,480 1 lit-, of which speculators have taken 25,780, and export ers 14,260 bales, and include 70,410 American, of which 25,820 are to speculators, and 9,640 to exporters. The import of the same time is 67,284 bales, of which 62,018 are American. Price; to-day—New Orleans fair, 6J*d; middling, 5,S' to 5 8-DM; ordinary, t* t<d to 4 1 -fd per lb. Mobile fair, s*jd ; middling s}sd; ordinary, 4d to 4Vd. Atlantic fair, s}sd; j middling, sd; ordinary, 4d to 4}sd per lb. The sales to-day are estimated at 10,000 bales, (2000 i speculation, 2000 export,) the market closing rather quietly ■ at a decline of t ß 'e per lb. on all qualities of American be- I low ‘T ir,” and with a large quantity offering. The concluding remark in our hist week’s circular has I be n fully realized since, more especially during the past t few days, and it is not at all unlikely a week or two of ■ comparative quietness may now prevail, as the trade hold , a present supply, and speculators do not usually enter the market single handed. The fact that most of the recent arrivals will pay profits which importers will be anxious to secure, and thus realize the instructions of shippers, will he an incentive for them to continue their present course of | selling freely, and to induce which, it is possible some slight | decline in rates may be submitted to, particularly as it | seems pretty certain that wo shall yet receive considerable I farther supply, and the accounts of the staud for the next ■ crop are propitious. Although we deem it quite to early for any weight to he ; attached to the latter circumstance, the mere fact that it is j so, is not without its influence. The feeling, however, is j strong ia favor of Cotton, and we have scarcely ever known ! a time when so large and bona fide purchases on specula- | tors’ account to hold for favorable returns, have been made. 1 Consumption contiuues on its most extended scale, nor is it I likely to receive any serious check while peace prevails. 1 Pauperism is extensively diminishing, and the working i cl&s os are gradually but sensibly improving in condition j and knowledge, and the stream of emigration, which cou- j tinucs to America and our colonies, must sooner or later in- I crease our commerce, and have its effect on manufactures, i W.- lght, (land;/ Jc Co. HAVRE, Mui 19.—There has been a very dull market j to-day, only 500 bales Cotton having been taken for con sumption. but prices remaining the same, the ra f e of our j manufacturing districts continue satisfactory. In ruber articles the demand has also been very limited.— ; Prices, however, are held as before. We have no arrivals to report from the United States : ,-ince yesterday. The weather is fine and favorable to the 1 crops in general. SAVANNAH, June 4.— Codon. —Arrived since the 27th | nit., 5.511 i ile« Upland (1.806 per Railroad, and 4,205 from i Augusta and landings on the river,) and 27 bales Sea Island, j The exports for the same period amount to 4,199 bales Up- . land and 187 do. Sea Island, against 14,187 bales Upland and 1,649 do. Sea Island at same time last year. Our last weekly report closed with a firm market and full pricer. On Friday there was a fair demand, the sales being 762 bales. On Saturday there was the same good inquiry, j —sales 80S bales. The rain, on Monday, prevented nearly I .••11 business operations—only 72 bales were sold. On Tues day the market was dull —sales 120 bale*. On Wednesday our market was quiet, with sales of 371 bales; and yester day there was not a brisk inquiry, as later news from Eng land was hourly looked for. The sales were 776 bales, the market closing dull and unsettled, some transactions being reported at a decline of J s 'c. Flour. —The market is fairly supplied with this article. We hear of sales of Baltimore brands from store at $5 $3 barrel. Jacksonville, Fla., May 21st, 1852. Dr. Wm. 11. Terr —Dear Sir —lt is with great pleasure that I comply with my promise, when in Augusta, to iu f trtu you what effects your Extract of Sarsaparilla had on ray disease. It i? at all limes pleasant to testify to the good qualities cf any body or any thing, that we know to be meritorious, but, far more so, when we can speak of a remedy which has rid us of a disease, which divested iife of all comfort. On ray passage to this place I suffered very much : the pains in my limbs were at times so severe that I could not j sleep for whole nights, the swelling cf the bones increased, i and I must confess that I would hove thrown your prepara \ tion aside had you not recommended it, with so much con i fidence. I persevered, and when 1 had finished the second bottle, the pains began to grow less severe, the swellings to go down, and my appetite and strength began to retard. 1 have taken the half dozen bottles, and I consider myself perfectly restored, and can walk five miles with less fa tigue, than I could a half, before. 1 shall ever be grateful to you, and you have my permission to make this public, in order that any who have suffered so much as 1 have, from the imprudences of youth, may know where to find relief. PERHAPS there i» nothing more calculated to disgust the public eye than the innumerable advertisements of the nostrums that are constantly appearing in the public prints. All are ready to exclaim. Our souls are sick, our ears are pained with every days reports of ills and speci fics. This state of the public mind would seem to forbid any person of delicate mind from sending forth anynewdis ' coveries in medicine to Hie trial of the public : still motive* of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real [ discoveries, which we are confident will benefit our tellow men. This latter consideration has prompted the author of these Bitters to make them known. He knows they are highly efficacious, for he himself, hi? wife, and many friends ; have given them a thorough trial. He was, for many years, a confirmed dyspeptic--so much so thi*t even his recollec tion was gone, but by the use of thc;s Bitter* he hga been restored to perfect health. This has been the cgsc with many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth this ’ advertisement, addresses those who know him. Be ha* been, for many years, a reaidant of Augusta, but at this time of Hamburg, s*. C., at which place he can, at any time, • be consulted about the Bitters. They are good in all case* of diseases of the digestive organs, the symptoms es which are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach from food, loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in the head, pain in the side, shortness us breath, lassitude, general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is entirely Botanical, and has proved efficacious, where many 1 celebrated medicine* had failed ;ip siqipurt of which he r could give reference to a number us persons, who have made a trial of it, but deems It unnecessary, as be is willing to place it on its own merits. All he asks ii for those who arc afflicted with dyspepsia to give it a trial. The above Bitters can be had at O. GOSBV’B Hamburg, , E. C,, and at Dr. WM. H. TUTT’S Drug Stare, Broad street, . Augusta. 8*29 T3ACON'-—4o,<fcojbs.
