DlUk WILLI AMS’ PULMONIC’ BALSAM OF M ILD CHERRY and WOOD NAPTHA, for the cure ( ~f Coughs, Colds, Hoarseness, Whooping Cough, Croup, Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, Asthma, and Consumption. i No medical preparation has ever been presented to the i public under such favorable auspices as this medicine. It ! bus been received with the most marked approbation by . thousands, and its celebrity as a remedy for all diseases of ! the Lungs, is now becoming notorious. Language cannot describe the promptness and efficacy of its action ; indeed | its salutary effects are truly wonderful. It has been known | to cure the most hopeless cases after the best medical skill, and all known remedies had failed. Testimony the most convincing is constantly being re ceived, certifying to the superior excellence of Dr. C. Wil liams’ COMPOUND PULMONIC BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY and WOOD NAPTHA. It is becoming very ■ popular wherever it has been introduced, and has secured I an enviable reputation; indeed it has been emphatically ; pronounced the greatest remedy for all diseases of the Chest and Lungs, that has ever been presented to the public. The following communication is from Dr. James 31. Con ner, an eminent surgeon Dentist, who is wellknowu through out North Alabama: Cocrtland, Ala., Fept. 4, ISSO.—Dr. C. Williams—Dear Sir: I believe it becomes my duty to speak of the medical virtues of your “ Pulmonic Balsam of Wild Cherry and Wood Naptha.” In the early part of last week 1 ivas af flicted witli a very bad cold and cough, and having many professional engagements to attend to, 1 neglected paying my case proper and timely attention, until my cough got so bad I could scarcely speak; attended with a great diffi culty of breathing; and all my friends thought my ca-c a very bad one. 1 sent for a bottle of your “ Pulmonic Bal sam,” and commenced taking it as directed; in about half an hour I felt greatly relieved and was in a gentle perspira tion, and in about 1 hour I was nearly clear of the cough and my breathing entirely relieved, and was enabled to at tend to ray professional business on the following day, when I found myself entirely relieved from ail the distressing | symptoms. I must, therefore, unhesitatingly declare that your Pul monic Balsam had the most happy effect in my case, and proved itself superior to any remedy I ever used before, and from my experience declare it to be the most prompt and effectual remedy for affections of the Chest*and Lungs ever presented to the public. It produced in my ease free expectoration and a gentle perspiration, relieved the great difficulty of breathing and coughing, and allayed all the soreness and burning in my breast, in a remarkably short space of time, acting like a charm. Yours, with high esteem, J. M. Coxxfh. llcktsviu.k, Au., August 1, 1850.—-Dr. C. M’illisms— Dear Sir: Your Pulmonic Balsam of Wild Cherry and M ood Naptha, is in great demand with us, and gives e\cry satisfaction. It the leading remedy for diseases of the Lungs here, and is superceding all other medicines. Most truly yours, J. F. Dkmovillk, Druggist. Atuesh, Ala., March 20, 1830.—Dr. C. M’illiams—Dear Sir; Your Balsam is in great demand at the present, and we hope to do you justice in selling it. Respectfully, Waloxjc A Harsis, Druggists. Florence, Alj, Dec. 19, IS49.—Dear Pir: I take the pre sent ojqiortuiiity of bearing testimony to the medical qual ities of your Pulmonic Medicine. The Rev. B. It. Barker had a cough for about three or four weeks. It not only was distressing to himself, hut su--h was the severity of the paroxysms that all around with him. I ad vised him to try your Compound Syrup of Mild Cherry and M’ood Naptha. He did go, and took one bottle, and it stopped the cough almost immediately, and has not since returned, nor lias he had any symptoms of it sines. 1 have used many cough medicines and Lave tried and seen used, ail the balsams and nostrums of the present day, ami I verily believe that yours is superior to them all. I remain yours, T. J. Kjixatric*, Principal of the Florence Jlale Academy. BrzzARD Roost, Ala., September 18, 18-50.—Dr. Charles M’illiams: I am gratified to say to you, that I have used in two cases, your Pulmonic Balsam of M'ild Cherry and Wcod Naptha, and found it a safe and efficient remedy for Coughs and Colds. I have used it myself aud found it to be a very excellent remedy for any derangement of the Bowels, Diarrhoea, &c. James Williams, Tax Collector of Franklin County. All are ready to exclaim, Our souls are sick, our ears are pained with every days reports of ills and speci fies. This state of the public mind would seem to forbid any person of delicate mind from sending forth any new dis coveries in medicine to the trial of the public: still motives of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real discoveries, which we are confident will benefit our lellow men. This latter consideration has prompted the author of these Bitters to make them known. He knows they are highly efficacious, for he himself, his wife, and many'friends have given them a thorough trial. He was, for many years a confirmed dyspeptic—so much so that even his recollec tion was gone, but by the use of these Bitters he has been restored to perfect health. This has been the case with many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth thD advertisement, addresses those who know him. He has been, for many years, a resident of Augusta, but at thi> time of Hamburg, 8. C.,at which place he can, at any time' be consulted about the Bitters. They arc good in all cases of diseases of the digestive organs, the symptoms of which are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach from food, loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in the head, pain in the side, shortness of breath, lassitude general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is entirely Botanical, and has proved efficacious, where many celebrated medicines had failed; in support of which he could give reference to a number of persons, who hare made a trial of it, hut deems it unnecessary, as he is willinc to place it on its own merits. All he asks is for those who arc afflicted with dyspepsia to give it a trial. The above Bitters can be had at O. COSBT’B Hambnr* R. C., a, Dr. WM. H. Mhile it i? a fraud on flic public to pretend that any one medicine will infallibly curt —stiff there is abundant proof that the CHERRY PECTORAL does not only as a general tiling, but almost invariably, cure the maladies for which it is employed. As time makes, these facts wider and better known, this medicine has gradually become the best reliance of she af flicted, from the log-cabin of the American peasant, to the palaces of European Kings. Throughout this entire coun try, in every Stale, city, and indeed almost every hamlet it contains, CH EKKY PECTORAL is known-as the best reme dy extant for diseases of the Throat and Lungs, and in ma ny foreign countries, it is coming to be extensively used by their mosi intelligent Physicians. In Great Britain, franca and Germany, where tiic medical sciences have reached their highest perfection, CHERRY PECTORAL is intro duced, and in constant use in the Armies, Hospitals, Aims Houses, Public Institutions, and in domestic practice, as the surest remedy their attending Physicians can employ for the more dangerous affections of the Lungs. Also, in milder cases, and for children it is safe, pleasant, and ef fectual to cure. In fact, tome of the most flattering testi monials weTeceive have been from parents who have found it efficacious in cases particularly incidental to childhood. The CHERRY PECTORAL is manufactured by a practi cal Chemist, ami every ounce of it under his own eye, with invariable accuracy and care. It is sealed and protected by law from counterfeits, consequently' can be relied on aa genuine without adulteration. We have endeavored here to furnish the community with a medicine of such instrinsic superiority and worth as should commend itself to their confidence—a remedy' at once safe, speedy and effectual, which this has by repeated and countless trials m oved itself to be; and tu tby great care in preparing it with chemical accuracy, of uniform strength to afford Ph; -icians a new agent on which they can rely for the best results, and the afflicted with a reme dy that will do for liitm all that medicine can do. HASTINGS COMPOUND SYUCi* OP NAPHTHA.—The wonder and doubt felt by the Medical Faculty when Dr, Hasting proclaimed the curability of Pul monary Consumption, by the use of Naphtha as a remedial agent, has now, after eight years of trial, settled down into a deep conviction that there are few or no casts iu which Consumption cannot be cured by DR. HASTING’S COMPOUND SYPUP OF NAPHTHA. In every case in which it has been tried iu England or the J United States, it has been followed by immediate relief and ultimate cure. In the Blenheim Free Dispensary, under the charge of Dr. Hastings, during five years that the Naphtha has been in use, there has not been a single death from disease of the Lungs, while previously patients had died almost every week. In incipient stages of Consump tion the effect of the Naphtha Syrup is almost miraculous and a cure effected in an incredibly' short apace of lime. Ju the more advanced stages, and even in the third or last dreadful division of this hitherto incurable disease, its ef fect is equally wonderful. This period is marked by th* expectoration of the tubercles in cheese-like particles mixed with pus, mucous, blood, Ac., and most generally ac companied with diarrhea. On administering the Naphtha Syrup, the formation of the tubercles is almost instantly ar rested, the foreign matter thrown off, the tubercles already formed are destroyed, and the breathing immediately be comes easier, and the patient, on the third night after first taking the Syrup, is often able to enjoy a quiet night’s rest —a thing unknown for weeks previously. THE TRIAL OF A SINGLE'BOTTLE is all that is asked by the Proprietor to prove this medicine to be all that has been stated. BRONCHITIS. Bronchitis has in this remedy a sure and speedy cure* and is acknowledged by all the medical faculty to be with* out a rival in the speedy cure of Bron 0 itis, both acute and chronic. COUGHS, COLD AND CATARRHS yield to the- influence of the Naphtha Syrup, often In tha short space of forty-eight hours. NIGHT SWEATS. This distressing and weakening accompaniment to Cob sumption and other diseases, is instantly stopped by the Ume of the Naphtha Syrup. SPITTING OF BLOOD. The most severe attacks of Spitting of Blood have inva riably been stopped within the short space of thirty mi nutes, and all disposition to recurrence of the same pre yented. In conclusion, the Proprietor warrants the Nuph . tha Syrup, to be not only the best but the only certain'’ Lungs m ° nary Censum Etion, and all other diseases of genuine without the written signature n f u t *• SW ‘ a ‘ « ~ For sale in Augusta by HAm-ANB, RTSLEY A CO., D.
