Aug. 24.—Cotton, since the departure of the America, on the 21st inst., has been comparatively quiet, and the sales restricted. The advices per Europa confirm those previously to hand, in regard to the pros pect of a large yield the forthcoming season, and although circumstances combine at present to nullify their effects on prices, a continuance of such accounts for a week or longer ■vould not be without their influence later on. As it is, no disposition is evidenced to reduce the stock in importers lands, while, at the same time, the demand is freely met it full current rates. The business since Friday has been principally to the trade with a fair amount on account of speculators and exporters, and may be thus reported; Sales Saturday, 6,000 bales, 1,000 speculation and export, 5,100 American. In American Flour a moderate sale was experienced at 6d. reduction—the ex treme decline applying chiefly to qualities below the best; sour Flour, at the same time, in continued good demand, and fully as dear, sacks Hour remaining unvaried. White Indian Corn may be quoted rather higher, and yellow ratiier cheaper, the demand, is however, quite in retail. Having purchased, at a heavy expense, the exclusive right to use Alexis improvement in the county of Richmond, begs leave to call attention to its superiority over all other methods now in use. First —That they are of greater strength. Second —The Teeth and Gums are fused to the plate, ma king it a single piece, and thereby rendering it impossible for the lodgement of food, which cannot be prevented by the ordinary modes; and also, the perfectly life-like ap pearance caused by the continuous Gums, and Fourthly—by a better fit of the plate, and consequently greater use in mastication. Dr. Munson being now on a tour through the Northern States, will visit the principal cities and procure all the late improvements, as he is determined not to be surpassed either in workmanship or durability. The public are invited to call and examine specimens now at his office, feeling assured that a simple inspection will convince any one of its importance and utility. au2s-difcwtf O. MUNSON, A. M., M. To this invention, be fore the great improvements were applied, the first premi ums were awarded at the last New York State Fair, and Fair of the American Institute.
