IMPROVEMENT IN SETTING MINERAL TEETH.
npHE undersigned would respectfully call the attention
J. of the public to the following important improvement
in setting Mineral Teeth.
Having purchased, at a heavy expense, the exclusive
right to use Alens improvement in the county of Richmond,
begs leave to cail attention to its superiority over all other
methods now in use.
First—That they are of greater strength.
Second —The Teeth r - id Gums are fu_ed to the plate, ma
king it a single piece, and thereby rendering it impossible
for the lodgement of food, which cannot be prevented by
the ordinary modes; and also, the perfectly life-like ap
pearance caused by the continuous Gums, and
Fourthly—by a better fit of the plate, and consequently
greater use in mastication.
Dr. Munson being now on a tour through the Northeru
States, will visit the principal cities and procure all the
late improvements, as he is determined not to be surpassed
either in workmanship or durability.
The pub !c are invited to call and examine specimens
now at his oflice, feeling assured that a simple inspection
will convince any one of its importance and utility.

SEWING MACHINE.
SINGER’S Patent Straight Needle Perpendicular Action
_ SEWING MACHINE. Patented August 12th, 1851.
Improvements, which render this machine a perfect instru
ment, patented April 13th, 1552. To this invention, be
fore the great improvements were applied, the first premi
ums were awarded at Hie last New York State Fair, and lair
of the American Institute. As now improved, these ma
chines are infinitely ahead of competition, and the inven
tion is unquestionably the most valuable one now before
the public, not excepting the Planing Machine, Colt’s Pis
tols, or any other. All kinds of Sewing, on either cloth or
leather, done by these machines in most beautiful style, so
it cannot rip or ravel, and with immense saving of labor.
The great shoe m .nufacturers at Lynn, and other places,
use these machines. The extensive saddlery establishments
of Newark, N. J., and Bridgeport, Ct., use them; and the
manufacturers of clothing and working tailors in many
parts of the country have introduced and arc employing
them with p j rf:ct success. No Sewing Machine previous to
this was of any practical value, or stood the test of actual
use; and no machine for stitching can ever be made that
will be useful, without infringing on I. M. Singer's Patents.
The pub’'care cautioned not to buy other machines con
taining 1. M. Smger’s Improvements, as all infringers will
be promptly and vigorously prosecuted. Price of Machines,
with all apparatus complete for immediat o use, including the
right to use under the pr tents, $125. Orders sent by mail,
or through either of the express lines, immediately execu
ted. Country merchants coining to New York always fur
nish a convenient medium for the purchase of Machines.

PATENT MEDICTN ES. I
THE GREATEST COUGH REMEDY
EVER DISCOVERED.
Dlt. C’. WILLIAMS’ COMPOUND PULMONIC BAL
SAM OF WILD CHERRY AND WOOD NAPTHA !
for the complete cure of Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Asthma’ j
Bronchitis, Spitting of Blood, and all other Lung Complaints
tending to Consumption.
READ! READ!!
This justly celebrated preparation is recommended by
some of the most learned and intelligent Physicians in the j
country, and will be found superior to any remedy for the j
cure of all diseases of the respiratory organs. All persons 1
who Lave used it for Asthma, Cough, Spitting of Blood,
Whooping Cough, Croup, or Hives, Consumption, I’aiu, ;
Soreness of the Breast, Difficulty of breathing, and every \
other disease of the Breast and Lungs, attest its superior j
efficacy in the most unqualified terms.
In Pneumonia, a disease which is generally very dan
gerous and fatal, it is confidently believed to be the safest
and most effective remedy that cap be employed. It has
been known to cure in a short time some of the most dan
gerous cases of Pneumonia, after it had baffled every other
remedy.
Bronchitis, a disease which is annually sweeping thou
sands to a premature grave under the mistaken name of
Consumption, is promptly relieved and cured by it. The
usual symptoms of this disease (Bronchitis,) are Gough,
Difficulty of Breathing, Hoarseness, Soreness of the Throat
or Lungs, Asthma, Hectic Fever, accompanied with Spit
ting of Phlegm, or matter, and sometimes Blood, It is an
initamation of the membrane which lines the inside of .he
whole of the wind tubes or air vessels which run through
every part of the Lungs. This Pulmonic Balsam immedi
ately suppresses the Cough and Pain, subdues the Ini tin
mation and Fever, removes the difficulty of breathing, by
producing a free and easy Expectoration, so that a cure is
soon effected. It always cures in Asthma. Two or three
doses will cure the Croup or Hives of children in a few
minutes, and it is remarkable how prompt it is in subduing
the violence of Whooping Cough, and effecting a speedy
cure, and many who have been given up by their Physi
cians as incurable in Consumption, have been restored to
perfect health by it. In fact, as a remedy in Pulmonary
Diseases, no medicine has ever obtained a higher or more
deserved reputation, in the short time it has been before
the public.
This Pulmonic Balsam, if given in the commencement of
Pleurisy, Pneumonia,'or in acute Rheumatism, in doses
large enough to produce a little nausea for some time, (go
ing to bed and covering up warm,) will produce a free per
spiration, which, if continued for two or tlireni hours, will
subdue those diseases at once.
gW Bee Directions, also Dr. Williams’ Medical Pampl -
lets and Circular, with certificates from gentlemen of the
first standing.
It is our purpose to circulate these pamphlets and circu
lars extensively ; but should any one be overlooked they
are earnestly desired to call upon the Agents named below,
and procure one gratis. It will repay perusal and intro
duce you to a mass of testimony in favor of the prepara
tion which is perfectly irresistable. Such being our confi
dence in its virtues, we are willing to warrant the M di
cine in every recent case, (if used according to the direc
tions,) ami where the person is not satisfied that he is de
riving benefit from it by returning the bottle, within 2i
hours time, ihe Money will be refunded.

AYER S CHERRY PECTORAL,
Tj'Oll THE EURE of Coughs, Colds, Hoarseness, Eron
i efiitis, Whooping-Cough, Croup, Asthma, and Con
sumption.
Os all the numerous medicines extant, (and some of them
valuable) for the cure of pulmonary complaints, nothing
has ever been found which could compare in its effects
with this Preparation. Others cure sometimes, but at all
times and in all diseases of the Lungs and Throat where
medicine can give relief, this will do it. It is pleasant to
take, and perfectly safe in accordance with the directions.
We do not advertise for the information of those who have
tried it, but those who have not. l amilies.that have known
its value will not be without it, and by its timely use, they
are secure from the dangerous consequences of Coughs
and Colds which neglected, ripen into fatal consumption.
The Diploma of the Massachusetts Institute was award
ed to this preparation by the Board of Judges in Septem
ber, ISA7 ; also, the Medals of the three great Institutes of
Art, in this country; also, the Diploma of the Ohio Insti
tude at Cincinnati,Tins been given to the CHERRY PEC
TORAL, by their Government in consideration of its extra
ordinary excellence and usefulness in curing affections of
the Lungs and Throat.
Read the following opinion founded on the long experi
ence of the eminent Physician of the Port and City of ,
St. Johus, May S, 1851.
Dr. J. C. Ayer,—Five years trial of your CHERRY PEC
TORAL in my practice, has proven what I foresaw from
its composition, must be true, that it eradicates and cures
the colds and coughs to which we, in this section, are pecu
liarly liable.
1 think its equal has not yet been discovered, nor do I
know how a better remedy can be made for Hie distempers
of the Throat and Lungs. a. J. Burton,m. r>., f. k. s.
See what it has done on a wasted constitution, not only
in the following cases, but a thousand more:
Sudbury, Jan. 24th, 1851.
Dr. Ayer : la the month of Jalv last 1 was attacked by a
violent diarrhoea iu the mines of Calnorma. I returned to
San Francisco in hope of receiving benefit from a change
of and dipt. My diarrhoea ceased, but was follow
ed by a severe cough—and much soreness. I finally start
ed for home, but received no benefit from the voyage. My
cough continued to grow worse, and when I arrived in New
York, 1 was at once marked by my acquaintances as a vic
tim of consumption. I must confess that 1 saw no suffic er.t
reason to doubt what my friends all believed. At this time
1 commenced taking you" truly invaluable medicine v hh
little expectation of deriving any benefit from its use. You
would not receive these lines did 1 not regard it my duty to
#tate to the afflicted, through you, that my health, In the
space of eight months, is fully restored. I attribute it to
the use of your CHERRY PECTORAL.
Y'ours, truly, William W. Smith.
Washington, Pa., April 12,1545.
Dear Sir : Feeling that 1 have been spared from a pre
mature grave, through your instrumentality by the provi
dence of God, 1 will take the liberty to express to you my
gratitude.
A Cough, and the alarming symptoms of Consumption
had reduced me too low to leave me anything like a hope,
when my physician brought me a bottle of your 44 Pecto
ral.” It seemed to afford immediate relief, and now in a
few weeks time has restored me to sound health.
If it will do for others what it lias for me, you are cer
tainly one of thy benefactors of mankind.
Sincerely wishing you every blessing, I am, very respect
fully, yours, • Jons J. Clarke,
Rector of St. Peter's Church.
i With such assurance and from such men, no stronger
, proof can be adduced unless it be from its effects upon trial.

COSBY’S ANTI-DYSPEPTIC BITTERS.
Fill I! APS there is nothing more calculated 10 disgust
the public eye than the innumerable advertisements of
the nostrums that are constantly appearing iu tiie public
prints. All are ready to exclaim. Our souls are sick, our
ears are pained vith every days reports of ills and -peci
fles. This state of the public mind would seem to forbid tny
! person of delicate mind from sending forth any new dis
coveries in medicine to the trial of the public: still motives
of delicacy should not prevent us from making known real
discoveries, which we are coufident will benefit our lellow
men. Tliis latter consideration has prompted the author ol
these Bitters to make them known, lie knows they are
i highly efficacious, for he himself, Ids wife, and many friends
have given them a thorough trial. He was, for many years,
a confirmed dyspeptic —so much so ihat even his recollec
, tion was gone, but by the use of these Bitters he has been
restored to perfect health. Tins has been the case with
many of his friends. The proprietor, in sending forth (hi!
• advertisement, addresses those who teiow him. He La;
been, for many years, a resident of Augusta, but at this
time of Hamburg, S. C.,at which place he can, at any time,
be consulted about the Bitters. They are good in all ca • s
1 of diseases of the digestive organs, the symptoms of which
are, indigestion, pain or oppression in the stomach fn in
food, loss of appetite, flatulency, heart-burn, giddiness in
the head, pain in the side, shortness of breath, lassitude,
general weakness, disturbed sleep, Ac. The composition is
entirely Botanical, and has proved efficacious, where i any
celebrated medicines had failed; in support of which he
could give reference to a number of persons, who have
made a trial of it, but deems it unnecessary, as he is will ; c
to place it on its own merits. All he asks is for those who
i are afflicted with dyspepsia to give it a trial.

Since the first of January last, upwards of iW Certifi

In some very few instances this preparation has not given

MEDICINES.
CONSUMPTION CAN BE CURED.
IIASTINQ’S COMPOIAD gVBU»* OF
\J a'i'HTl A- The wonder and doubt felt by the Medical
Faculty when I>r, Hasting proclaimed the curability ofPul
monarv C usumption, by the use of Naphtha as a remedial
spent has now, aCer eight years of trial, settled down int*
a deep conviction that there are lew or no cases in which
Consumption cannot be cured by . T , lITT ~, TT .
DR. HASTING"n COMxOUND STRI POF NAPHTHA
In every oa-- in which it has been tried in England or the
United State;, it Fas.been followed by immediate rtiief ana
intimate cure. In the Blenheim Free Dispensary, under
the charge of Dr. Hastings, during five years that the ’
Naphtha ha s been in use, there lias not been a single death
from disease cf the Lungs, while previously patients baa
died almost every week. In incipient stages of Consump
tion the effect of the Naphtha Syrup is almost miraculous,
and a cure effected in an incredibly short space of time. In
the more.advanced stages, and even in the third or last
dreadful division of this hitherto incurable disease, its ef
fect is equally wonderful. This period is marked by the
expectoration of the tuberces in cheese-like particles,
mixed with pcs, mucous, blood, Ac., and most generally ac
companied with diarrhea. On administering the Naphtha
?vrup, the formation of the tubercles is almost instantly ar
rested, the foreign matter thrown off, the tubercles already
f. Tined are destroyed, and the breathing immediately be
comes easier, andihe patient, on the third nightafter first
taking the Syrup, is often able to enjoy a quiet night’s rest
—a thing unknown for weeks previously.
THE TRIAL OF A SINGLE BOTTLE
is alltbatis by the Proprietor to prove this medicine
to be all thathas been stated.
BRONCHITIS.
Bronchitis has in this remedy a sure and speedy cure
and is acknowh dged by all the medical faculty to be with
out a rival in the speedy cure ol Bronc itia, both acute and
chronic.
COUGHS, COLD AND CATARRHS
yield to the influence of the Naphtha Syrup, often in the
short space of forty-eight hours.
NIGHT SWEATS,
This distressing and weakening accompaniment to Con
aumpti< n and other diseases, is instantly stopped by the use
of the Nanhtba Syrup.
SPITTING OF BLOOD.
The most severe attacks of Spitting of Blood have inva
riably been stopped within the short space of thirty mi
nutes, and all disposition to recurrence of the same pre
vented. In conclusion, the Proprietor warrants the Naph
tha Syrup, to be not only the be=t but the only certain cure
for Pulmonary Consumption, and all other diseases of the
Lungs.
None genuine without the written signature of M. A. P.
HARRISON, on the wrapper of each bottle. $1 per bottle

THE "REMEDY IS FOUND AT LAST.
TJ TT’ai PEfTORAJL ELIXIR is one of the most
certain and most pleasant Remedies ever offered to the
Public. Its sooilung, healing and strengthening virtues dif
fuse themselves so generally throughout the human Lungs,
that it is"impossible for Pneumonia, Croup, Bronchitis, Pleu
risy, Asthma, Whooping Cough, Hoarseness, Difficult
Breathing, Pain in the slide, or Consumption, to withstand
its power. Its effects upon the Depuratory Organs are so
prompt that Nature is enabled to throw off all unhealthy or
impure agencies that tend to disease the delicate substance
of the Lungs.
Ft. m the hundreds of cures that are almost daily report
ed v it would be impossible for the most incredulous to doubt
for ;; moment. Many who have suffered for years with dis
eases of the Respiratory Organs have been cured by it, and
afe suundxngrits praises abroad.
The PECTORAL ELIXIR is prepared from vegetable sub
stances alone, and us u=e for years would tend to strength
en the system, and not like most other Medicines, weaken
it. It is now being used by some of the most eminent Phy
i siciaus in the country, and by many is considered an inf*Bi
ble remedy in GROUP.
Parents wno have youngclhildren, should keep a bottle a
ail times, as a single dc.-e will remove any case of this dis
tressing disease, if given atjthe onset
