FREE TRADE AND NO uONOPOLY Opposition to High Freigh Tariffs 1 Office of thk Fashioh Luts. 1 Augusta, April 15, 1854. J FIMIK subscriber would respectfully call the attention f A the Merchants throughou. Georgia, Tennessee, Ala bama and South Carolina, to the Savannah River, as a safe, expeditious and cheap route lor the transportations! their Merchandise. By comparing the freight tariffs of this line with thoi-eof the South Carolina, and Central, and Waynesboro’ Rail roads, it will show a resuit in favor of this route of from 30 to 60 ptr cent., generally, and in some instances a greater per eentage. By this route a merchant receives each shipment of his j Goods together; they are not retailed to him as they gen- j erali;. are by Railroaus connecting with the seaboard, with a list of charges attached to each package. In addition to the present force of this line, another new Boat, of light draught of water, wiii be aided during the coming summer. These boats will lea. e Savannah after the discharge of the New York and Philadelphia Steam ships, twice or thr, e times a week, delivering those Goods at this point in FIVE DAYS. From the present low tariff of this line a deduction of 12X percent, wi 1 be allowed on all bills from this Sate. Give the river more business, and a cheaper freight yet awaits you. Aligoodsfrom the seaboard should bed. - cted to M. A. COHEN, Savannah, and produce from the interior to JNO. A. MOORE, Augusta. To the manufacturing portion of Georgia, a wed as the Cotton Merchants, and d-alers generally, on the! i cf Railroads through Georgia and Tennessee, who ship to Savannah and Northern markets, this route offers very favorable inducements. Tofacilitate shipments, as well as to prevent errors, biils of landing should be forwarded to M.A. Cohen, at Savan nah, for all goods from seabord. JNO. A MOORE. Incase of low river, aii goods consigned to this line, wii! be forwaraeu by Central, and connecting Kaiiroads. apl6 ; T WYNN’S IMPROVED PARENT BEE AST COTTON GIN—OPEN TO THE WORLD—SSO PITCHER.
