For tearing formers’ hedges down, hallooings, Shouts, curses, oaths, and i’uch-like pious doings. , ft Young, (cried the King) d’ye hunt, d’ye “ hunt to-day ? “ Yes, yes—what, what ? yes, yes, fine “ day ; fine day.” Low with a rcv’rend bow the priefl replied. “ Great King ! I really have no horse to ride; “ Nothing, O .Monarch, but my founder’d “ mare, ** And die, my liege,' as blind as she can flare ” “ No horse! (rejoin’d the King) no horse, “ no horse 1” * ■ f - . • ; i “ Indeed, (the parl'on added) I have none : ** Nothing but poor old Dobuin— who of' “ comic “ Is dangerous—being blinder than a done.” * f Blind, blind, Young i never mind—you “ mud, mud go, “ Mud Hunt, mud hunt, Young—flay behind ? “ no, no.” What pity that the King, in his difpourfe, Forgot to fay, “ I’ll lend ye, Young, a horse.” The King to Young behaving thus lb kind, Whate’er the danger, and howe’er inclin’d, At home with pohtcjjt Young could not flay— So up hiß rev’rence got upon the mare, Refolv’d the chace with M?>:fty to fiiare, Whare’cr the dangers of the day. Kouz’d was the deet !—the King and parson Yduhg,' Caftorand Pollux like, rode fide by fide; When 10, a ditch was to be sprung ! Over leap’d George the Third with kingly pride. Over jump’d Tinker, Towzer, Rockwood, Towler ; Over jump’d Meuda!!, Bruflmood, Jubal, . J owlet, Trimbulli and Lightning, Music, Ranter, Wonder, ’ And fifty others with their mouths of thunder. Great names whole pedigrees so fair, With those of Homer's heroes might compare. Thus glorioully attended, leap’d the King, By all thole hounds attended with a spring! No: Collar’s Risa fiercer look put on, When with his hoft'he J>aft*d the Rubicon ! But way ward fare theparfon’spalfiey humbled, And gave the maie a lcdden check Uhfoi tunately poor blind Dobbin tumbled, And bioke his rev’rence’s neck. The Monarch gaping, with amaze look’d round Opon his dead companion on the ground— “ What, what ? (he cried) Young dead, , , “ Young, Young dead ! il Humph!—take him up-*-aud put him home . “ to bed.” Thus having finiihed with a chearfulfaee : Nimrod the lecond' joiu’d the jovial chace. % ' . • ' .
